The look on Saleh's face revealed perfectly his impressions of the bespectacled "teacher" before him. He was not in the least nervous about this whole situation, much less terrified of the man.
The idea of having a soul was humorous, hardly believable, yet apparently true, nonetheless. True or not, he didn't really feel like wasting time with this. It was not like he had anything to hide from this bunch of fools.
"I'm dying of curiosity." He spoke in a bored voice, contrasting with the words coming out of his mouth, and raised his hand halfway upwards.
Aion raised an amused eyebrow at the dry drawl, but approach the young man anyway.
"In that case we should hurry, shouldn't we? I can tell you right away if you stand in front of this machine and hold still for a bit." The demon wasn't bothering to make a show out of his looks or what he was this time, feeling that it wasn't going to be necessary. It didn't seem that this one would react, wings, horns or tail or not.
Saleh eyed the white haired man, and noticing the pointy ears, he promptly assumed the other was not human. But he did not seem to be a Gajuma either. Maybe a Half? Then again, this was not his world, so there was no way to know for sure.
Quickly dismissing the thought, he stepped forward, positioning himself right in front of the strange equipment. It was unlike anything he had seen before.
"What exactly does it do?" He asked more out of curiosity than concern, throwing the other man a side glance.
It was a good thing he didn't ask Aion about it as the Sinner would have taken any insinuation of him being related to a human in any manner as quite insulting. So Aion was left to his own thoughts as he operated the machine.
"It lets me take a look at your soul." Hitting a few buttons, he looked at the displayed picture of a glowing orb inside the man's chest and then nodded once. "You're a Meister."
The explanation Saleh received didn't help much since the concept of souls was something entirely new to him. He had little to no time to ponder about that though, as the result was announced shortly.
"I suppose that means I can wield a weapon again." He commented in a lighter tone this time, a sardonic smirk gracing his lips. It seemed he was a little too pleased with the result, for some reason.
He caught that gleam, but it didn't stop him from smiling as he said "It does." If anything, it made his grin even wider. "Just pay heed that weapon does not necessarily has to mean the same as weapon. The ones who are a person can decide to disagree with you at any time given."
"That's too bad." He shrugged as he spoke, though there was no hint of disappointment in his voice. It was the exact opposite, there was actually delight underlying in his tone.
Turning his back to Aion and taking a step towards the exit, he continued. "I guess I'll just have to give them a reason not to disagree with me, then."
Aion made sure to look a bit troubled at the ominous words Saleh spoke as he left, waiting just long enough to sound hesitant when all he felt was a cold satisfaction of having judged this one right when he had thought that he had reminded him a bit of Gennai in one of his moods. Knowing of Saleh's existence was without doubt going to be useful, though he would still have to wait and see if the man could follow up his words with skills or if he would fail and get caught like some easy small-fry instead.
