This was shaping into another very interesting day, and Gai was beginning to wonder if he really liked the month of January after all. But that was something he really didn't have time for thoughts of. Two cities were about to come under attack.

As Kakashi was still dealing with his injuries from their failed mission, though, Gai needed to find someone to go with. If they would go with him. At least this time he was better-equipped to not fail this Meister. In fact, he could protect them better than he'd protected anyone before. Considering who he could go with, Gai recalled speaking with Tassadar about missions, and the tall alien was a Meister!

Thinking of whom... Tassadar was around here, wasn't he? A few minutes later Gai had found Tassadar. Gai bowed his head. "Are you busy at this time?"

Gai didn't tend to hold back when curious; Tassadar was correct. But it wasn't crucial, and on the battlefield Gai could only focus on what was important to the matter at hand. All around them people were fighting. Some had already fallen, but at least there was support now.

It felt good to be wielded competently. Working with people on the training field often meant he was in the hands of those who had no idea what to do with a kunai, forget a kusarigama. Gai just wished he could do more as a weapon. It rankled sometimes, being rather inactive.

Sinking into a Kishin egg was always a strange feeling, something Gai wasn't sure he wanted to put into words even if he could. There was satisfaction to it too, though. The attack landed and the Kishin staggered with the impact. 'If you can do it without putting yourself at risk, jerk upward instead of pulling me out yet.' They could tear into the Kishin like this, but Gai knew that close combat was risky when there was a possibly poisonous tail lashing around.

Tassadar listened to the suggestion Gai made and changed his tactic while the blade plunged into flesh. Gripping Gai's Weapon form tighter, the templar shifted his posture. He crouched down before leaping up to tear the blade through the flesh.

The Kishin Egg howled even as the tail came back around even as the blade made it through the other end of his enemy, but before it could strike, the creature disappeared to leave behind a glowing orb. This Kishin Egg was nothing in comparison to the dangers of a hydralisk, but he wasn't foolish enough not to take it down quickly though.

'There is still much work to be had,' Tassadar said, and if Gai listened close enough, he might even detect the hint of amusement in the templar's tone.

It was a bit of a strange feeling as Gai was ripped through the Kishin Egg. He wasn't sure that he liked it at all. But he was a ninja, a tool (literally, here), and what he liked or did not like didn't matter.

'There always is.' There was calm acceptance in Gai's. While he enjoyed pushing himself, being in the hands of someone else wasn't as much of a challenge. He wanted to do more, and speeding up only did so much. Maybe when he had more souls he would do better.

'I take it you fought back home?' Tassadar was clearly experienced. Everything he did said it. And Selendis was the same way. Really, Gai had expected most to be combatents. He hadn't expected that some people pulled here were from worlds that hadn't even known war.

That was true, but he was born for battle, and that was something he would continue to do so long as he had his physical body. Wars happened regardless of the species, but he would fight for what was right - which was what he was doing here in this world. Tassadar, or any Protoss, was not one to stand to one side to allow the others to fight in his place.

There was another Kishin Egg barreling in towards him as Gai spoke. It didn't bother him in the slightest, and he took after that threat without any hesitation.

'Indeed. I am of the templar caste, those who fight for the protection of Aiur and her people,' Tassadar said as he spun himself to one side to slice the Kishin Egg with Gai's Weapon form.
