This functions as a reserves page, but there are no holds. If you're completely sure about wanting to join the game, post here and let us know so we can get excited and you can meet casts/current players!
Guidelines:
- You may only app one character per app session.
- PROCESSING means we have received that player's app. If it is blank then an app has yet to be submitted by that player.
- We will erase the list after each app cycle.
- If you are already a player at Soul Campaign, in order to app:
A second character you must have passed activity check the previous month.
A third and fourth characters you must have passed the two previous activity checks. - In case of challenge apps, the mods will judge both applications objectively and choose the better application. However, if we like the application of the other person well enough, we will give them a chance to apply for somebody else in the same app cycle.
- If you change your mind about your reserve, let us know so we can remove it from the list.
- Please submit early if you can. It helps us lessen the reading load by the time cut off rolls around and gives us a more accurate estimate of how many applications to expect.
The Application Mods
Soul Campaign's applications are judged by a group of people who have agreed to help the normal SC mods during our application cycles. They function as helper mods whose sole function has to do with apps and helping out in its processes. They read all the applications in the application gmail account, and provide their valuable input to help the SC mods process applications faster. Please note that the final decision on applications are still up to the SC mods, that all the applications are read by at least a few mods each, and that all acceptances are released by the SC mods themselves -- which makes all the SC mods part of the app mods, too. Guidelines on BETA-READING and asking for one:
We understand that Soul Campaign's applications have many sections that are unique to the game, which may provide some confusion or difficulties for applicants. In order to help the applicants ensure that they meet the standards of the application team as well as understand the sections better, we are also use this page to organize a beta-reading system between our current players and the applicants.
In the form below, please include if you want a beta-reader or not. Our current pool of players will volunteer to pick up your app for proofreading or not. Otherwise, we also have a group of beta-readers for us to assign one to you.
Understand that having a beta-reader is not a guarantee that your application will pass the application process -- but it does give you space to clarify all you need to know about the game in relation to apping, which may help your application's structure and content.
To give the beta-readers time to review apps, give their recommendations, and give the applicant enough time to revise their apps if necessary, we require all requests for a beta to be submitted two weeks before the application cycle cut off. We will allocate and assign the beta readers at this time and will no longer assign any after that period. The applicant can still ask for one, but it will be up to the players to step forward and volunteer themselves for the task. All in all, make sure to give your applications to the beta-readers in a timely manner. It is not the beta-readers' fault if you submit your application late.
We will link the reserve comment in the list below for easier access for beta-readers. Here's a brief guideline to help beta-readers and applicants with their apps. Please remember that this should be read alongside the application form, which also explains the content needed for the applications.
Test Drive Meme:
For the December application cycle, we will put up a test drive meme for all players and applicants to play in. This will help new applicants situate themselves in the game more easily, as well as give them an idea of the scenarios they will play in Soul Campaign. A separate OOC discussion post (in skirmish) will also be put up for those who want to chat with each other in the community on various topics that they may need help on. Both posts will be in soul_skirmish, which accepts comments from non-member accounts.
