Five times Phoenix saved somebody, and one time he didn't

one. For all the trouble and headaches Larry gave him, Phoenix couldn't help but grin when he managed to secure his first 'Not Guilty' verdict for his friend. Sawhit had been nothing but a fraud, and the man was getting his just deserts now as he was being taken away by the cops while Larry clapped him in the back and whooped in delight.

I knew you could do it, Nick! he had went, and Phoenix only grinned back in return as he looked towards Mia and saw the woman nodding back in approval.

Back then, Phoenix felt like he was able to do anything in the world.

two; state vs fey

two. It was an intense few days like no other, even putting himself into detention so that Maya could be free--but still it had all been worth it in the end, and Phoenix finally breathed out a sigh of relief as Redd White was led away in chains and Maya cheered beside him. We sure showed him!

Yeah, we did, Phoenix replied, although his gaze was still stuck on Miles Edgeworth, the Demon Prosecutor - Edgeworth who was glaring at him with the force of a million suns for having broken his perfect win record. Phoenix only stared back without ever flinching, an unspoken promise in his eyes.

One day, he would meet Edgeworth in the court again.

three; state vs edgeworth

three. DL-6. Three simple characters, but that had been enough to break through the barriers that Edgeworth had put up for so long and finally tell him the truth of the matter. Phoenix only frowned as he heard the story, a mix of guilt and sympathy dwelling in his chest; he felt bad for making the prosecutor tell him the story, but in a way it had been necessary. Now he know what had happened, and now he could help his friend in the way he once helped him.

So Phoenix had fought, and in the end he triumphed, and it was a feeling unlink anything when he saw Manfred von Karma being taken away and Edgeworth looking so much better than the first time he saw him in State vs Fey. Larry and everybody else was there too, and Lotta was insisting on a picture even though Edgeworth was trying to get out of it.

As Maya pulled out a banner and cheered with Gumshoe whooping at the background, Phoenix grinned and laughed, pleased that he had managed to save his best friend after all these years.

four; state vs fey (again)

four. Pearl was truly a victim of circumstance, even if the girl would never realize it. Forced into such a painful position by Morgan even though she loved Maya so much... Phoenix could only mourn within himself as he watched the young girl worry and fret about Maya. Did she not know of the things that were in place because of her? Of how life could turn out if Morgan had succeeded in her plans?

Phoenix stopped himself from biting his lip as the thoughts ran in his head, and as he watched Pearl running to Maya in joy the man could only be glad that he had managed to solve this case and prevented Pearl from living a life of guilt.

five; state vs iris

five. He visited Godot - Diego - a month after the incident of State vs Iris, and he watched as the white-haired man sat before him across the window.

I'm sorry you're in here, Phoenix had started to speak, but the man had just shakes his head and gave a grin towards him. A grin that wasn't condensing or cocky; a real grin, and one that spoke of approval and joy.

No need to apologize, Trite, he had returned, amusement obvious in his voice. You did what you had to do, and I'm glad for it. Now I can live my life in peace.

I could-- Phoenix started again, but Godot had cut it before he could finish.

You saved me already, Phoenix Wright. That's more than I could have asked from you.

plus one; state vs misham

plus one. He watches Kristoph Gavin - still laughing and howling mad with laughter - being taken away in chains by the cops, and as much as he knows he should be glad all he can feel is a melancholic silence in his chest. Yes, he proved his innocence in that trial seven years ago. Yes, he finally gave Kristoph Gavin his just desserts. Yes the Jurist System was finally established after a long fight of seven years, and perhaps the world would now be a better place with it around.

But the fact that its been seven years weigh heavily on Phoenix's mind, and he knows that seven years is a long time. They now rest on his shoulders now, dragging him down and telling him of all the sacrifices and choices he had to make and the unspeakable things he had to do to get where he is now. It may be a victory, but at the same time it is also a loss.

Somewhere in those seven years he's already lost long ago, and now its too late to save himself.
