#8 [video]

[Hello, Death City. You better have enjoyed your Halloween night until now, because shit is going to hit the fan, and there’s not much you can do about it. But at least someone nice and understanding will break the news to you, right?

No, not really. Better luck next time.]

I’m going to assume that anyone who is conscious and has a functioning brain will have already noticed the alarms went off. This is not a Halloween prank: Death City is under attack.

[The chaos is audible in the background, from the sound of the alarms to the shouts of panic. If you’re observant enough and you’re not freaking out about what’s happening, you may notice Near’s speech is slightly slurred, even though he looks as business-like as always, or perhaps even more so, considering the costume he chose, although the fedora hat is off right now. He goes on to explain what’s happening, and to illustrate his point, he connects his video post to the surveillance system-- so that half of the screen is taken up by his video post, and the other half by the surveillance footage-- showing a small group of strangers being fought off by a few Shibusen technicians.

Only a few seconds into the surveillance footage transmission, a pretty scary face pops up and then disappears again; Near notices it, but doesn’t comment on it. The surveillance footage continues for a few seconds more, enough to show that the strangers have successfully managed to overpower the technicians and are making their way towards Shibusen, before Near fiddles with his communicator and switches back to a normal video post. ]

Several unknown individuals have begun causing disturbances in some districts. I don’t think I have to reinforce the fact that you should not, under any circumstances, try to face them unless you belong to Shibusen, but I know some of you will be stupid enough to try it out. Good luck on your suicide mission if you do follow through with it--

[He stops speaking all of a sudden and the sound of typing is visible on screen as Near checks something on his communicator before continuing.]

It appears that some of us guests are suffering from severe behavior changes, similar to what would happen if influenced by madness wavelength, and have also developed animal traits; so far, the only information I have is that most of these people, if not all, have gained a snake tail. It’s obvious who the culprits are, and it’s entirely possible that the guests in question are being used as a distraction for the attack to take place more efficiently. If possible, try not to harm these guests, and remember to stay out of fights if you can avoid them. The last thing we need is more casualties on our side.

[The background noise escalates just before the video transmission ends.]

((ooc: This is posted before the madness wavelength strikes the entire city, so unless your character is one of the snakey people, they should still be sane enough to understand this post. XD.))
