From the outside alone, the building already looked like a portal into the 1930s. It was positioned at a street corner, whitewashed and simple in its elegance, with two floors and those old draw curtains at each of the windows. The sign on the wall by the door (burnished wood, of course, in the old style) was gold plated, with the words KUZUNOHA YORUZUYA embossed across of it.
The inside of the office was done in much the same fashion, with its wooden furniture, steel file cabinets, black iron ceiling fans and conspicuous lack of contemporary decorations. Anyone who had ever seen a detective film or who had been to a private investigator's office would have gotten the same feeling.
The reception area doubled up as Raidou's office, where he was seated at the desk in front of the back windows - clients were welcome to sit at the couches sandwiching a nice-looking coffee desk. Smaller rooms connecting to it from the left side included a rest area, a modest kitchen, two other work areas and - for possible future use - a hardy jail cell.
Smaller rooms connecting from the right side included an area that doubled up both as the archive and an office, where Roy Mustang had decided to set up his own work place. The pair had decided to work hand-in-hand, in order to pool their information and resources together for the duration of their stay in Death City. Mustang's area was more like a military office, with even more file cabinets, a table that could be used to seat several people comfortably for discussions, a board full of notes and diagrams and the faintest smell of cigarettes.
Anyone and everyone was welcome, most especially if they had business!
