FAQ - Premise
Death City, Nevada
Once a peaceful place, home to the Shibusen Technical Institute for Meisters and Weapons, the city has been torn apart by war. Shinigami-sama, the God of Death and headmaster of the school, has been killed, leaving a young, inexperienced ruler in his stead.
In a moment of desperation, the new Shinigami inadvertently activates the mysterious demon artifact known only as "BREW." Created by the former Death God and one of his warriors, Eibon, the invention was meant to grant the most desperate desire of its user - in this case, the ability to rescue Death City and stop the madness from overtaking the world.
However, the tried and tested phrase "be careful what you wish for" holds true all too often.
As the Shinigami had never intended to have this subconscious wish granted, he was not specific as to the means of accomplishing his goal - so imagine his surprise when BREW opened a rift to other worlds, drawing in warriors from different universes to aid in the battle. The newcomers varied in gender, age, and size - the only thing they had in common was their potential to become "Weapons" or "Meisters."
Scrambling to remedy what he had done, a horrible truth dawned on the young ruler: BREW could only complete one wish at a time.
Until the war was over, those who had been dragged into Death City would remain there.
However, the Shinigami was not one to accept defeat - He quickly developed a plan to deal with his mistake. These people had been brought to his city in order to help resolve the conflict; if he could convince them to cooperate with Shibusen, he could hopefully bring the war to a quick resolution, and then use BREW to return them to their rightful worlds. In exchange, he could offer them food, shelter, and a scholarship to Shibusen Institute. There, they would be trained by the world’s best Meisters and Weapons, so that they may defend both Death City and their own lives.
Once his first wish was granted, he swore he would return them to their homes - but in the meantime, they would have to live as citizens of the City, and master their new powers. Of course, the choice is theirs to make - because once the witches catch wind of what BREW has done, the Shinigami may not be the only one searching for their favour.
