Why is that a dance, that is taking place on a holiday that is supposed to celebrate love and affection...is breeding such hate and hostility?

So...what do you wish to do whence we slip away from the dance?

Forced affections are always false. And false feelings breed hate.

But is such hate a result of forced affections, or merely as a result of a stern opposition to the entire thought surrounding the holiday?

Perhaps the hate is brought on by the thought of having social prejudices forced upon oneself.

But social predjudices only take effect when one gives into them. Another cannot force you into a mold to which you are not suited.

You can't have a snowball fight without snow.

A snowball fight sounds very fun. Perhaps we can hope?

Perhaps it is because some people are prone to anger, and when faced with love they become uncomfortable, and spread hostility. Or maybe it's just Hogwarts. It is rather... unique here afterall.
