Madness Wave Event.

HELLO CAMPAIGNERS

As you may have noticed from the day change, Death City has an unexpected visitor. Asura is indeed alive and Shibusen is making measures to drive him away. The shield is keeping him from entering the city, so your character cannot engage him.

Unfortunately, they would have a very difficult time doing so even if he were within the city. The presence of Asura is unleashing incredible amounts of Madness Wavelength, which essentially means your characters will be experiencing temporary and mild to moderate insanity (hallucinations, incoherency, etc, but they will still mostly be aware of themselves ) until it is gone.

Along with insanity, some of the other side affects are the return of a small percentage of your characters powers, and incredibly increased resonation amongst partners--if they can get together to resonate that is. All Weapon abilities will still be usable.

The Madness Wave will effect some people more than others, but everyone will experience it unless they have a Meister ability that allows them to counteract the effects. The abilities that allow this are:

  • Calming Wavelength: Their soul emanates a wavelength that counteracts the effects of the Madness Wavelength for themselves, and anyone in their vicinity.

  • Soul Apathy: Completely negates the effects of the Madness Wavelength.

  • Soul Freeze: Protects Weapon and Meister from the effects of the Madness Wavelength

For the shadows: Adachi, whose sealed soul is being used to power the barrier surrounding Death City, is reacting to Asura’s presence. This has caused an imitation/projection of the shadow world from the Persona 4 universe to appear in Death City, much like last July in-game when the guests had to deal with him. Unlike that time, however, these shadows will not take on the appearance of the guests and will just remain as shadow blobs. Hostile and mute shadow blobs. They will come out of the plumbing, drainage, and oddly enough, the television. They are physical like the frogs so yes they can hurt you, and more importantly, you can hurt it. However, there's not as many as the frogs and they are easy enough to kill.

For the Hetalia characters: All European, African and Southwest Asian nations are under siege by kishin eggs and witches, with the Shibusen bases there barely able to keep things under control if at all. The citizens of those countries are living in much fear and hiding. North America, South America, some parts of Asia, and Oceania so far have been able to keep the witches and kishin eggs in line in their countries.

Please use this post to plan/coordinate for the event.

Edit: Just to be more clear, in canon they state that even golems, which are defined as creatures without sentience/basically inanimate objects will eventually feel the madness effects. That means, that pebble on the side of the road is going crazy so your character can't escape the madness either (young, old, calm, loud, etc.) . No one is exempt unless you have said abilities above. By the end of the day, your character will be singing in their underwear in the middle of the park.

Edit x 2: Added a section for shadows and countries.
