I have had a great time these last few days. Friends of mine from Germany have come to visit Canada and I was their tour guide! I can't believe all the stuff I have taken for granted here.... everything from our choices of restaurants to the many things we can do in Vancouver ( Read more... )

After moving to the UK, there's so much I miss about Vancouver that I took for granted. I suppose "the grass is greener" and "you don't know what you have till it's gone" that spring to mind. I still like it here but nothing beats where you grew up! I think in a few years I will move back but that's after a lot of consideration.

Glad to hear you had a lovely time with your German friends! Did you manage to see any bears? Hope they got to take photos.
It is interesting to hear about the things they appreciate about Canada because we don't see it like they do. My German penpal kept telling me how he loved our mountains and ocean. I never really paid much attention to our mountains. Shame really, because in England there's no mountains, well not in the area I live in!

Nice hearing from you hun :)

I know exactly what you mean! For the last few years I have been putting all of my free time towards spending exorbitant amounts of money to fly somewhere else to have fun, without realizing all the things that I could do in Vancouver that I hadn't seen yet!

Haha we did see bears! we saw 2 big bears and even a bear cub on our 20 minute walk :) they thought it was great. I was lucky with all the bear sightings, I know, but it worked out well :)

Aww Im so glad to hear from you too hun. I know we're on facebook and msn, but I rarely ever get to hear whats really going on in your life. LJ does a good job of keeping me in the know. Hope you are doing well. Have fun in South Africa! SA is one of my dream places to go, so make sure to write down everything that you did and experienced so I know what to do when I eventually go there :)
