In which Jules is called upon for a spontaneous history lesson and Jade thinks the 19th century sounds like it sucks.

"You mean you didn't have disappearifiers?"

She sits incredulous, leaning forward from the couch as if Jules might suddenly sprout four arms in front of her eyes. He looks a little disgruntled -- what in the world was a disappearifier? That couldn't possibly be a word -- but still remains poised, trying to explain as calmly as possible.

"I'm afraid not. All we had at home, aside from ships and carriages, were our own two feet."

"You mean you had to walk all the stairs all by yourself?"

"Yes."

That time, Jade fell off the couch in astonishment, screaming oh noooooo on the way down.
It was hard to tell if that comment was directed at Jules or at the fact that her face was now pressed into the carpet.
