Some pictures from my trip last weekend to Myeongdong
This is the first gothic-style Catholic cathedral in Korea. The church is made out of brick, however. It was pretty and simple inside, but there were gorgeous stained glass windows on the walls. I really wanted to look around more, but they were having mass in a matter of minutes, and I didn't really want to interrupt that.
Some more pics:
The middle aisle of the cathedral
The back of the cathedral
Namsan tower, which you can see from the church. I need to go there one of these days
After that I headed over to the Seoul Welcome Center, which conveniently enough was on the way to the cathedral.
I got a bunch of brochures from my parents about Seoul. In the one corner they had a bunch of hanbok, which is traditional Korean dress. I was given the opportunity to wear one, so of course I took a bunch of pictures.
Hanbok are two pieces. There is the top, which is like a short shirt thing, and the dress part, which ties in the back. The dress part is a sort of like a spaghetti strapped dress, then the shirt goes over it. Then there's a bow that is tied around the shirt part. There are shoes too, but I had to go barefoot because my feet are too big.

Recently I got a bunch of new furniture, but other than a few pictures here and there I didn't really show the change it made. Anyway, here we go.
I really like setting up room layouts and I usually like to change up my apartment's layout every few months or so to keep it interesting, but I think this layout will stick for now it's pretty practical and good for movie and pizza night with my friends.
Out with the old...
This is how my room looked when I first got here. I didn't have much furniture, other than the bed and the table. But fruitful months of garbage picking has enabled me to transform a college dorm room into a semi-decent looking bachelor pad.
And in with the new...
The furniture is horribly mismatched, but that's what you get for dumpster diving. Also, the mattress isn't normally there. I'm borrowing it from a friend for when my folks come out since I only have one twin-sized mattress.
And my desk, where I spend most of my mornings talking to the family and my friends...
My parents are coming to visit next week, which has made me pretty excited. I'm looking forward to seeing them and hanging out with them all around Seoul. They're planning on bringing me a bunch of things from America, which I'm also looking forward to. It's going to be like Christmas! As I stated in my last post, I've been homesick a bit lately, and that's only going to grow once my one friend leaves, so the arrival of my parents and all the things from America they'll bring me is a welcome sight. I'll update you on their time in Korea when the time comes.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures. That's all for now.
