Last week Jenny told us Barindra was coming to Boston for the marathon. Totally casual, like it was one of her friends that we had never met and had no connection to. Yes, but even if I will be very happy for you and impressed with your big accomplishment, I realky will feel as if an era has passed when you finish AWWW. I went back and checked when you started posting, and when I first commented; - in the autumn of '09!

And you know when I first started thinking about this story? April 2009. I was mulling over the idea of an AU/AU in which Jack is a Sri Lankan Tamil refugee in a detention center and Ennis was part of religious group visiting political asylum seekers. I asked in DCF slash whether people could accept a Jack without blue eyes. Majority answer was no. So then I asked, what are the characteristics you associate with Jack and with Ennis? In those answers, Jack’s traits were more numerous and varied. So I decided I would write this story, but with multiple Jack characters. Each one would have a different trait that was dominant. One would have to be the “real” Jack Twist that Ennis would end up with. I sure didn’t intend for the story to be this long, though.

And thank you for commenting so faithfully all these years. :*
