It was the year of eighteen hundred and forty-nine before I was returned to Luceti. I would hope that answers your question?

[He cannot for the life of him recall when Chopin died. Perhaps this was in the ballpark but... he'd look it up at some later date]

It would indeed Mr. Chopin. Thank you for sharing.

You're most welcome, Mister Phantomhive. Although if I may have the pleasure of asking, how is life during your era? Has much changed? I know you are only a couple years into the future for me, but I would rather like to know.

Much can change in four decades, Mr. Chopin. Particularly in an age of progress such as the one we find ourselves in now. Her Majesty's Empire alone has grown much in both power and prestige.

Her Majesty? Do you mean Queen Victoria? She was quite a pleasure to meet if I do say so myself. But I am rather pleased to know her kingdom is growing well, England was a very beautiful country when I last visited.

I do indeed, Mr. Chopin. She still proudly sits upon the throne To many, she is very much the face of the Empire.

I'm rather glad to know this. Perhaps I should return to England in the future and see Her Majesty again to perform for her court, she was rather fond of my music.

A most considerate offer, Mr. Chopin. No doubt she would overjoyed at the prospect of a new performance from such an established performer as yourself.

Oh Mister Phantomhive, you flatter me so. I'm not truly such a great man as you claim I am, I'm simply a man who loves to perform music with the piano as his instrument.

No mere man is so beloved by Her Majesty, Mr. Chopin. Still... it is a virtue to be humble, is it not?

I do agree, being humble is a good virtue to live by as are the other good virtues given to humans. I try to live by these good virtues, but even I fall short at certain times.

It is part of being human to fail, Mr. Chopin. It would be presumptuous to assume one can be perfect in all things.

Ah of course, Mister Phantomhive. I was not trying to say all humanity can be perfect, we indeed are all destined to fail at one thing or another. It's who we are as humans and it's in our nature, do you not agree? I also have never claimed to be perfect at all things, the only thing I truly feel I can be perfect with is the piano.

I believe it is in the nature of humanity to strive for it in any case. Even left to crawl through the dirt, a human can and must strive forward at any cost if they do not wish for their demise. [a pause...] After all, it is also in the nature of humanity to cannibalize on the failures of others.

Those words of which you speak I am all too familiar with, I even understand the struggle of surviving the slings and arrows of man's suspicious nature. I would go into details, but I am afraid that is a very long story and one that I am rather ashamed of as well.

I would not wish to pry into matters such as that, Mr. Chopin. After all, there are places humans do not wish others to see.
