I don't see my mother very often any more - we live miles away from one another. One time I was staying there for a weekend and I mentioned how just being back home was balm for my soul - and she said that's just how she thinks of being with me, balm for her soul. So that's me, soulbalm!
How did you get your name? Go on, leave a message and tell me ( Read more... )

  • Reading The Boy in Striped Pyjamas on the bus.
  • Going for a walk at lunchtime and feeling the wind blowing my hair everywhere. It was a cold spring day, but so full of life.
  • Picking colours for my pavilion at the Festival. It’s going to look so lovely.
  • Having supper with J & S. J (my brother) looks SO relaxed, in fact he looks 5 years younger. ( Read more... )

  • Supporting one another in the office, and then having a good old gossip at the end of the day.
  • Slobbing in front of the TV this evening. I’ve become slightly addicted to Comic Relief’s Fame Academy and am transfixed by Tara PT, who appears to give such an honest performance, full of emotion. And she is genuinely learning a talent - I can’t ( Read more... )

  • That early morning shower. I love the spritziness of a shower as a waker upperer in the morning
  • Defying the parking police. OK so I had to sit in my car for 25 minutes in my pyjamas and an overcoat until someone else drove off and I could nip into their space, but hey, I didn’t get a ticket! I know, I know I should get rid of the car and ride a ( Read more... )

  • At the Big Meeting, realising that they REALLY want to be associated with us. Shame they have no budget for this year. They gave the impression of being people who would be fun to work with, and who would bring a lot to the partnership. The ball is back in their court now, so we wait to see what they will counter-offer. eeek!

    What a top day!
  • Lying in for a wee while this morning. It had been a long day yesterday and I hadn’t slept very well, but it was good to doze past when my alamrm woudl have gone off (and in fact my phone alarm did go off!)
  • Doing the samurai sudoku sitting in the sunshine, drinking cappuccino and relaxing in Greenwich. Bliss.

  • The drive from Edinburgh to London - in 8 hours with two stops for pee-ing and caffeine refills. Not a bad use of an afternoon.
  • Being able to lie down once I’d stopped driving.
  • Listening to The Last Word on Radio 4 just as I got into London - what a great programme, and one I must remember to catch again.
