Y'all been on buddhist retreat or something? *grin*

I've always wondered what makes me tick, it's part of the reason I train. To me training has become a way of polishing my charater to reveal "me" as much as way of learning to beat people up.

buddhist retreat me?
well sort of, but iwthout the monks and the mats, its more coffee and hiding in the house trying to go through things in my head methodically and with reason.

Think of life as kendo shiai. What do you need to win? A calm, immovable (trained) mind and a trained body.
Take a look at this:

http://www.meditateinlondon.org.uk/meditation-classes-london.php

These are the people I train with and they're pretty good they teach relaxation meditations, meditations for generating compassion, patience stuff like that. Honestly I went on a 6 week course, 2 hours on a thursday night and it's made a serious impact on me.
They do like two 20 minute meditations and the rest is a bit of a lecture/debate on a topic which'll relate to every day life and explains thought processes and stuff.

I'm actually starting to think of meditation as shiai with myself.
