Wonder
--
She captivates him.
Ji Hoo wonders why he's the only one under her spell. She is light, spilling from the corners of her soul and into his heart. She radiates life, with laughter and spunk and sparkling eyes. She is the kind of beautiful they write songs and books and poems about. She is everything he wishes he was good enough to deserve.
(And somehow, nobody else notices that.)
Ji Hoo thinks someone should tell Jae Kyung that.
It might as well be him.
"You captivate me, you know"
Jae Kyung looks down at the honest (perfect) face resting on her lap. A soft smile tugs on the corner of her lips as she threads her fingers through his coppery hair.
"Yeah, I know"
Ji Hoo presses a small kiss against the hand he's holding.
"I wonder why no else is" he murmurs against her skin.
Jae Kyung laughs, the sound reverberating in his heart, etching itself inside his soul.
"Because if everyone was as in love with me as you are -" she says primly, her dark eyes twinkling. "- you'd have a very hard time persuading me to come back to Korea and marry you"
"Hm...I guess you have a point. After all, it did take me four years to find you. Even with Woo Bin's help. And then another two years to make you fall in love with me. It would've taken much longer if I had to fight off a legion of suitors, don't you think?"
Jae Kyung nods amusedly.
"Of course. After all, I only married you for your looks. Who knows what might have happened if I had met someone even handsomer?" she grins cheekily.
Ji Hoo shakes his head, almost pouting, his hair tickling her bare thighs.
"Not possible. You know I'm the best thing that's ever happened to you" he winks.
Jae Kyung meets his smiling (perfect) eyes and feels the world slow around her-him-them.
"Yeah, you are" she whispers softly.
Ji Hoo stares at his wife (oh God, he has a wife and it's Jae Kyung and he doesn't think anything could be more perfect) with an unreadable expression on his face before pulling her into a searing kiss.
It's not like they hadn't kissed before (or done much, much more) but it always makes Jae Kyung's knees buckle. It makes her remember every single moment of them (their awkward first meeting in New York, dates in Central Park, making love in his office and the hopeful look on Ji Hoo's face as he got down on one knee) and think this is what people write songs and books and poems about.
When they break apart, Ji Hoo is still on her lap and looks at her like she’s his sun and he doesn’t mind being blinded by her.
“You captivate me, you know”
Jae Kyung’s pretty sure that’s Ji Hoo’s way of saying I love you.
