- Tony calling Thor a demi-god. This seems to be his own opinion; Loki refers to himself as a god, and Fury refers to Thor as a god. Captain America, hilariously (not) refuses to acknowledge other religious viewpoints and insists that they can't be gods because 'there's only one God, ma'am, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that' (urgh, remembering dialogue is hard so it's paraphrased). Fandral, in Thor, implies they aren't; he says something about summoning up lightning which will make the little mortals think Thor's a god. Whether or not Thor is a god or an alien it doesn't matter - it's the 'demi' bit that's off, to me.
- Fury and Coulson; there has been speculation that Coulson is Vision and thus will be back ("lost my one good eye" (lost his vision), references through Iron Man 2, Captain America and Avengers Assemble to LMDs) . There has also been speculation that Fury is a manipulative git and Coulson was revived off screen. Either way, I still really want Coulson to be alive!
- Steve swore! Ok, it was just 'bastards', but that's harsher language than most fic gives him. That made me smile all three times I noticed it (yeah, I missed the significance the first three times).
- Oh Loki. Loki, Loki, Loki. I still feel like he's dug himself into a hole that he can't get out of. Fandom had a soft spot for Loki and cats to start with, and now, with the description of his crazy as a bag of cats by Bruce, there has been lots of Loki+cats art and YAY for Loki and cats are awesome separately and even more brilliant combined.
All the feels for Loki. He makes a very compelling villain; I love that he's not just 'muahahaha evil', he's got layers to him.
When he's talking on the cliff, Loki says that he was thrown into the abyss. But. He let go. Is he talking metaphorically, or does he see the bifrost fall that way?
- Thor! I can't remember whether I mentioned this before, but I really like that he calls Eric his friend, and that he checks into Jane's whereabouts with Coulson. He's a god and yet he remembers his mortal friends. It's nice because they could have glossed over that. There's a really nice balance in Thor between his wanting to protect the earthlings (bring Loki home for justice) and wanting to bring Loki home for his family. Even after Loki sends him falling 30,000ft Thor tries to reason with him, to reach out to him. Although he is clearly struggling to see things Loki's way ('perceived slights', his dismissal that Loki could have reasons for his crazy), he offers Loki an out on Stark Tower, even though Loki is to crazed, hurt and angry to take it (as I said before, anyone hating so much on 'sentiment' has a lot of feels). He tries.
- Though, Darcy I'd really like to know where she is during the movie, what's she doing? Is she going to be in Thor 2?
- Tony! Bruce! I love them, they're wonderful :D Science buddies :D
