The Playing Experience → Nothing, sorry! I've read all three volumes for the official manga, watched the movie, and volumes one through two and five through six of the anime. So hopefully that's enough to play off of combined with my super awesome observation skills?

Note on new RP → If I don't know you, I might RP a little awkwardly with you at first. If I warm up to you, it'll fit nicely but just give me about a week of interacting with you to get it down. It'll help me determine what kind of relationship our characters can have as well.

Even if you don't RP but just wanna talk about my interpretation, I'm okay with that sort of thing.

That doesn't mean I'll converse with you on such levels or continue the conversation, but you're welcome to try. Nine out of ten times, I go with the flow.

I can do simple translations so you're welcome to help me practice. I'm trying to learn Korean so if you're willing to work with a newb, I'd be quite grateful for it. ♥ Also: no chatspeak. Physique → Blue's physical structure is rather pathetic: despite seeming to have delicious muscles he is quite scrawny and small. To rephrase this in a manner to make the fan-girls go nuts: he is slender and delicate. His skin is a pasty white that I can only deem as unhealthy because it's the palest in the series, more so than Physis which says a lot. Like his name, Blue has slateblue hair, although it could easily be confused as powder gray with a hint of blue. Thanks to his awesometastic space shampoo which he uses every day, every day is a good hair day. These luscious locks of his are short and whispy. Though he reminds his stylist not to partition his hairline, it naturally pushes off to the side of the television screen which his eyes do not follow. His bangs are long and just a clip short of stabbing an eye out. Speaking of eyes, Blue's eyes are a bloody crimson, fueled by his inner determination of burning, fiery passion. As if he wasn't pretty enough, Blue has gorgeous go-go girl eyelashes. / Official Picture
Personality → Blue is the calm, cool, and collected type. He's used to giving out commands and having them followed to a "T". Even so, he's often the one holding the burden when he chooses to battle on the front line to preserve his people. Blue's efforts don't also pay out and he's become quite adaptable to making changes when things don't go according to plan. He's quick to find new directions, though he puts a lot of time into the decision. Blue is persistent; one of his drawbacks was the many messages he sent to Earth asking that mu be recognized and welcomed, though this was never achieved. He's stubborn, in this regard, constantly sending these messages even though they've never been responded to. This is also seen in his decision of choosing Jomy as successor, where he is patient in waiting for Jomy's mu powers to awaken as well as stubborn in insisting he become Soldier.
Despite living under oppressed conditions, he's had his share of small achievements. He is not, however, boastful or proud. He's the type to congratulate based on personal effort, a very 'I explained this problem to you, but you worked it out yourself'. He does, however, relish when things go his way. With a grin, he marveled at Jomy's power which blew him away and exclaimed, "don't you understand? Jomy's powers have awakened!". Blue is quiet, perhaps mellowed out by the experience of his lifetime, but his thoughts are not; he has five centuries worth of memories in that head of his.
Blue is a people person, so social, but not for kicks and giggles. His eloquence is a portrait of a leader which he must keep up for the sake of his people. He's gentle and soft, but doesn't smile too often. His signature facial expression is Teh Staaaaaaaare™.
There are some minor differences between the books, television, and movie arcs, as true of any character. Though this account will be using the anime as a basis, the elements from book and movie will be used to determine his reaction to situations as well. In the movie, Soldier Blue demonstrates moments of impatient behavior. He vents by pacing up and down and saying what kind of skills others have which he lacks. After his nice little bout, he sits down and thinks it over calmly.
History → Although not revealed in the comic, it was revealed in the television series that Blue was one of the first mu to be produced by the adult examination. The adult examination is conducted when a child reaches maturity, the age fourteen. Blue refused to give up his memories and his psychic powers were awakened. Afterward he was held in prison captivity with other children who manifested mu abilities. They were a select population, kept alive because of their extreme power; the weaker mu children were exterminated.
Blue took charge and rebelled against the control with his new brethren. He led them in break out for freedom. Together they stole a ship and flew to the outskirts of Ataraxia where they set up their mu base. They made improvements on the ship to cater their mutations, renaming the ship to Shangri-La.
As leader of the mu, he was given the title “Soldier”. His status is signified by the headset he wears which travels through the lineage of mu leaders. (Eventually Blue chooses Jomy as his successor and in the anime, Tony inherits the title.) From that point on, Blue dedicated himself to saving my children who would otherwise be killed by the education system.
One girl that he saves is Physis, who changes his life and the direction which he will lead the mu. Although blind, she shows him her vision of Terra, the planet that will become his object of obsession. Abandoned long ago, the education system which deemed Blue unfit selects elite students to populate Terra. Physis and Blue have a not-so-complicated relationship, but it is best summed up in his that he worships her. Physis is Blue’s idol, a goddess to mu and humans alike.
Of the mu he saves, the most important can be declared as Jomy Marcus Shin. He watched Jomy from a young age, aware of his powerful and latent abilities as a mu despite slipping under the radar by the education system. Blue decided that Jomy should succeed as Soldier because of his physical nature. The last of his energy is spent saving Jomy and convincing him to guide the mu as the next Soldier.
In the comic, Blue dies early in the first volume. However, he lives on through Jomy’s conscious as an important resource for guidance.
Strengths and motivation → Blue is a wonderful leader. He is the one who banded the mu together toward a single cause and liberated them from confinement in an exodus fashion. One of the traits of being a good leader is knowing when to speak, listen, and guide. Blue prefers peaceful negotiations but is obviously able to act when necessary. Blue is wise in making decisions, the type to make one learn from experience. He lets Jomy leave so that Jomy can realize himself how humans treat mu and he also allows Jomy to "live" his memory of the adult examination. This tough love may seem a bit cruel at first -- he is, after all, practically letting a three-year-old who's learning how to walk fall off the stairs -- but he doesn't exempt himself. It is mentioned many times throughout the canon that the mu is "a gentle race" that is unused to battle, but Blue draws on the strength of those he cares himself to push himself beyond his limits when he needs to act. Even at his weakest, he is able to fly after Jomy, harden his skin in outer space, and shoot laser beams from his palms. It's a double edged knife, causing him a short lifespan for a mu.
Blue also has the great ability of trust in both earning it and maintaining it. His desire to go to Physis' vision of Terra is something that could be, as far as he knows, an illusion but he believes in himself and a better universe.
Blue has crazy awesome determination and stalker skillz.
Weaknesses and anxiety → His main weakness is his body. Like all mu, he is physically inferior to humans. Though it was only lightly brushed on in the anime, Soldier Blue's body has reached his limit. Thus, he needs rests often and has his joints failing on him often. His physical problems are less with organs or nerves, and pertain only to his bones, joints, and stamina. However, Blue's body is still remarkably durable! In the television series, he survives four bullet impacts before putting up a barrier and crawling to a main deck to sacrifice himself in a suicide explosion of the ship.
He has some mental issues, though not insane as you may be thinking. As much as he cares about his people, he's often times quite selfless. This contributes to his weak body and also takes a major toll on his mental state. His biggest concern is the continuation of the mu species. His dream is that they can live peacefully on Terra. Jomy inherits Blue's dreams of coexisting with humans in harmony on Terra. To achieve this, he has a two step plan: first, to travel to Terra; second, to destroy the mother system that is implemented. Blue has two major fears in the canon: first that he will not ensure the succession of Jomy as Soldier and second the well being of his people. Though he sees the first worry absolved, he does not "live" to "see" Terra. Blue has unusually difficult levels of tolerance. He views humans who try to destroy all mu as misunderstanding in nature. Given his attitude toward ensuring safety for all mu, I get the impression he would harbor the blame on himself for not trying hard enough than admitting that somebody is too stubborn to listen to him; a very "I'm not getting through to him -- must try harder!!" approach. Even so, this means that if he was every made angry that he would probably deliver the destruction of Terra three times over.
Abilities → Even though he is weak physically, he ages slowly. In fact, mu have lifespans extended beyond humans despite this setback. Blue is the leader of the mu so his abilities are quite impressive. His ESP powers rivaled geenie!Jaffar's until Jomy came along. And then Tony came along. But anyhow, a sampling of Blue's powers including flying like Superman, superhuman strength with extra glowing fist awesome, reading the thoughts in your head, your everyday except not really super badass telekinesis and ESP, and premonition. He followed Jomy in his dreams before the lad was even born. If it's ESP and you can dream it up, Blue can probably do it. He's a type Blue mu, the highest of ranking humans have made to determine mu power. This rank was named after him, since his abilities were strongest and he was the leader. Possibly, his name may come from the rank... He's never seen moving objects around in the canon, but I wouldn't put it past him. Flying > Moving objects around.
Equipment → Blue's most prized belonging is his headset which designates his status as Soldier. It is unknown what kind of powers the headphones have, but as a reader, I'm personally prone to suggest that they have no special significance other than acting in lieu of a crown. Another possibility is that the headset passes along memories, knowledge, and "soul" of previous Soldiers to the one currently wearing them. (Or it could just be that Blue had a really awesome fashion sense and Jomy was jealous of his accessorizing talents.)
The only other belonging that Blue can claim as his own are the clothes on his back. Although it appears to fit tightly on his body, there are actually many layers. His neck liner, shoulder pads, vest, elbow length gloves, and knee high boots are all the same creamy beige with elegant silver lines for decoration and (this I assume:) to keep the clothing strapped into place. His body suit is onyx and stretches from the neck all the way down to the fingertips and toes. The zipper binding the suit together is headed by a crimson teardop jewel. Under the shoulder binding and above the suit, passing, and vest is a purple cape that trains on the ground should he walk. The cape can hang loose like a jacket to cover up or be pushed over the shoulders. His boots are a half-inch heels. The entire ensemble is curved for an elegant, professional look. He is the only character with this color scheme.
Physis → Simply put, Physis is Blue's Goddess. It was said that he had no romantic interest in her, but he obviously adores her! He watched her in the same way he watched Jomy since her conception. As a product of Superior Dominion, she was implanted with a memory of Terra. Blue fell in love with this image and dedicated himself to visiting this paradise planet. He abducted Physis in her fifteenth year and allowed her to live among the mu. She is neither human nor mu -- a biological specimen engineered completely from nothing -- so to allow her to seem non!suspicious, Blue gave Physis her powers of premonition.
Jomy → Like Physis, Soldier Blue has watched him from before his birth. He also saves Jomy, though from his awakening during the adult examination. He constantly calls Jomy the perfect fusion of mu and human, thus placing all his hopes on making him the next soldier.
Tony → Blue is under the impression that Tony is about six years old in appearance. He's aware of the massive potential all of the children born on Nazca have, and he cares about them deeply.
Keith Anyan → Keith Anyan kills Blue in episode seventeen of the anime, unlike in the other sources of canon where he dies a natural death. It was only referenced, but Anyan and Blue had a makeshift cat-and-mouse relationship as predator and prey.
Hobbies → Blue is a professional rapper off screen. :|b
