It's very humbling to know how strong you once were, and then not be able to finish a set of what you used to warm up with less than a year ago. It's not embarrassing to struggle benching 245...it is however very embarrassing struggling with 135...for me at least. I know that's a lot for some people, but I'm kinda big and I used to do that so ( Read more... )

I was a cross country guy in high school, but I was still doing reps in the 160 range. I got weak fast once I got to OU. But without lifting at all, my strength started coming back junior/senior year.

Plus, there's the eventual "old man strength" you can count on.

Its like if you tried to bench 10 pounds and struggled with it even though you were used to doing 30 lbs easily.
