[Background]
Here! [Personality]
With the exception of being able to turn himself into a scythe, Soul is, to put it simply, a typical teenage boy. At the start of the series we see his personality as being laid-back, calm, reserved, and having molded himself to have what he sees as a “cool” personality. Usually he will express himself by saying something is cool or uncool and prefers to use the direct approach, although this usually fails. However, after he matures later in the series he no longer does this. He enjoys eating the souls he and Maka collect and he often drools when his next meal is nearby. Generally, he’s just a glutton for food which can sometimes lead to harmless bickering with Maka. Despite their frequent squabbles they maintain a solid relationship, both friendship wise and partner wise. He is slightly immature and has the tendency to be headstrong, stubborn, apathetic, argumentative, and a slacker that would prefer to find the easy way out of things than to put any effort in. He has a strong weakness towards women, shown by his never failing nosebleeds when Blair is naked, but ironically he really doesn’t have any perverted thoughts.
One of his better traits that came from his years of being the “cool guy” is that he’s one of the most loyal people one could meet thanks to the fact that “breaking promises and changing sides isn’t at all cool in the least”. He will always look out for his friends and will risk himself for Maka without a second thought, further showing his bravery and dedication. He is determined in everything he does, and is more than willing to help people get back up when they’ve fallen. He is quick-thinking and cunning when he wants to be, which definitely comes in handy considering the fact that he and Maka are frequently fighting off enemies.
Soul also has a great love of music, personally seeming to prefer things like jazz. When it comes to music he will open up to people more than he usually does, although if you ask him to play the piano he will more than likely revert back to his usual foul mood. Soul has great talent when it comes to the piano, and it is said by Maka that when they first met, he played her a dark song that she found intriguing. The reason for his reluctance to play despite his talent is that he “doesn’t know what he’s capable of” and he has no wish to continue his family’s tradition of being a musician. His ability to turn into a death scythe came in handy for this, as he was able to enroll in Shibusen and leave his family.
Later in the series when Asura has been revived, Soul greatly matures and he becomes much more cool-headed and serious. He remains incredibly composed in the direst of situations and will more than likely be the one to point out important points that nobody else had thought of, such as their limited time in the fight for BREW against Mosquito. His sense and judgment have earned him the respect of his peers and he also seems to have been able to grasp an understanding towards others that he previously did not have, even able to help them think clearly when they ‘re being stubborn. The cause of this change is more than likely the Black Blood inside him, and the constant fight against the madness. In this struggle he has learned to control himself rather than giving into his emotions and gaining a very strong will power.
His loyalty has not changed thus far and is still compassionate to his friends and willing to do anything to keep Maka safe. Despite this, he has a low self-esteem and has little to no confidence in himself alone. Being around weapons like Giriko and Justin frustrates him, as they are both extremely powerful weapons even without a Meister to use them, while he can’t do anything without Maka. His inferiority complex also extends to his brother, who is a better musician than he is. He keeps these problems to himself, not even sharing them with Maka, which makes him seem rather cold and harsh. This is hardly helped by the fact that he is very rarely seen doing anything except for frowning, scowling, or giving a sarcastic smile in place of a genuine one. Underneath all of this he is still kind-hearted, but only really shows this side to Maka. When they first meet, Stein looks at his soul and is able to determine that he has a twisted and sarcastic soul, fitting in with his sense of humor.
[Abilities]
Soul’s most prominent ability would definitely be the fact that he can turn himself into a scythe. He can either fully transform or partially transform like most weapons can and he has proven to be a decent fighter on his own like this. Decent doesn’t really cut it in most cases, however, and he is really only useful in Maka’s hands. He also has the ability to use Soul Perception and the Anti-Demon Wavelength, although he is only able to do this when resonating with Maka.
Soul can resonate with anybody by playing the piano inside of the Black Room in his soul, by allowing the Wavelengths involved to travel over the sound waves and rhythm. When doing this he is able to control the speed, strength, and efficiency of the attacks being used. While this ability is useful, Soul risks falling deeper and deeper into the madness every time he does use it.
After becoming a Death Scythe, Soul and Maka are able to change the appearance of his weapon form, although as of right now that only applies to the length. While resonating with Maka’s Grigori soul he is also able to grow wings and use flight.

[Other important stuff]
Nothing that I can think of right now.
[Sample post]
[First Person]
Oi, so can anybody hear me with this thing? I’m looking for a girl named Maka and some others from my world. If anyone knows anything about them it'd be cool if you could tell me. It'd be easier than having to try and find them myself.[A slight pause and then some shuffling can be heard. He feels a bit awkward talking to an audience that he doesn’t actually know is there right now.]
Man, it’s so not cool to just be taken from home like this. At least give a guy a little warning next time.
Anyway, what's there to do in this place? If I'm gonna be taken here there should at least be something for me to do.
[Third Person]
It was kind of unsettling how - familiar? Is that the right word? No. But for now we’ll just go with that.
It was kind of unsettling at how familiar everything felt, even after becoming a Death Scythe. When he and Maka were still collecting souls he’d always imagined that he’d feel so much more powerful than he ever did. He’d imagine that even Black★Star, who could never acknowledge anyone being better than him, would have to admit that Soul had out done him with this. Maybe he and Maka would get to go on super secret missions that nobody in their class could know about because it was only for Death Scythes and their meisters. He’d always imagined that it would feel a whole lot cooler to be a Death Scythe than it actually did.
Truth be told, he actually felt a lot less cool than he ever had before now that he’s a Death Scythe and the irony of that really kind of pissed him off. Sure he’s more popular with the other students in Shibusen and sure he’s gotten a lot of offers from people - mostly girls - that want to be his partner now, but all of that didn’t really mean anything. Especially not when he knows that he’s nothing compared to the other Death Scythes. Compared to Justin and Giriko, even Marie-sensei - he’s nothing. Where they can all fight without a meister, he has to rely on Maka to get anywhere in a real fight. Now that he’s a Death Scythe he only feels weaker; it almost feels as though in his quest to become stronger, he’s moved down a path that will only lead him in a circle.
And feeling like that kills him more than anything. Even he can tell that he’s become a lot stronger since the beginning, both mentally and physically, but it doesn’t matter. He can’t fight on his own. He’ll never match the level that Justin and Giriko are on and maybe he’ll just have to accept that. It’s not like this is something new to him - his brother is much better in music than him and no matter how hard he tries he will never be better than Wes. Why should it be any different when it comes to fighting?
“Heh. How uncool must I be to be sitting here like this wallowing in self-pity?” Soul gets up from his desk chair and makes his way into the kitchen of the apartment he and Maka share. He’s hungry and she should be finishing making dinner right about now.
It’s strangely quiet as they sit at the table eating. Neither talk the entire time, too consumed in their own thoughts to really pay attention to the other person in the room until finally Maka does say something just as Soul is about to go back to his room.
“Hey, Soul? We’ll always be a team, right?” She sounds so unsure of herself. He hates that. It makes him feel like he’s failed as her partner.
But it’s not only the tone of her voice he hates, it’s the question itself. Why would she ever doubt their ability to keep working together?
Maybe because he makes his insecurities completely obvious? Maybe because it’s pretty obvious that he’d like to be able to fight on his own like Giriko and Justin? Yeah. That’s probably why she doubts their ability to remain together.
And isn’t that sad? He’s upset because he can’t be more like his enemies. He’s upset because he has friends that will help him when he needs it. Che. What does he need to be more like those two for any way? Working alone isn’t all that cool any way. It’s much better having someone to work with to lighten the load. And maybe he isn’t as strong as Spirit and the other Death Scythes still affiliated with Shibusen, but he hasn’t been one for that long any way. He’ll get there eventually and he’ll have his friends’ right behind him.
“Of course we’ll always be a team. Don’t ask stupid questions like that.”
Does he really believe all of that stuff he just thought about not needing to work on his own? For right now, he does. When he’s with Maka, he’ll believe that it’s okay to rely on the person he wants to protect. As long as he’s around her, he’ll believe that it’s okay to rely on her for the courage she displays so much better than him.
When he’s alone, he’s true the insecurities will be back. Maybe they’ll even appear while Maka is in the same room, just feet away. His thoughts right now really aren’t enough to permanently convince him that he’s presently strong enough. But if it will reassure Maka, he’ll force himself to believe it because she’s his closest friend and being able to make her smile makes him feel pretty cool.
[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] Well, the muse has been with me for a while, but the game I had him in last didn’t really stick. I’ve been thinking of sending a character to Somarium for a while and seeing the awesome Soul Eater cast here (and even a lot of the casts that aren’t his own) made me think that this might be a really good fit for him.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] I like the being active rule. Inactive players make it hard to get good CR. :(
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] Someone was actually trying to enable me to app a different character. Perhaps that particular one will come at a later date.
[Any questions?] Nope!
