The Muse;
Character; Urotsuki
Series; Yume 2kki
Background; Urotsuki is a hikikomori that never leaves her room. When she's awake, she plays games on her game system and writes in her dream diary on her computer. When she's asleep, however, she travels through a dream world of her own creation, exploring and interacting with its residents. On the surface, her dreams seem bright and cheerful (for some reason, a lot of dreams are outdoorsy such as parks, highways, under the ocean, or even outer space), but once you delve deeper, they become more twisted and strange, such as the graveyard world with it's many tombstones and places of ghosts, to a blood-red world with demonic women in veils that chase after her. One of the dream worlds is even that of her own apartment complex, where she can visit a few of the residents of the complex that may be representations of her real-life neighbors. It is unknown why she chooses to live this type of lifestyle, whether she was wronged in the past or just can't deal with the outside world, but to her, it really doesn't matter as long as she can continue to dream.

Urotsuki more or less fits the "silent protagonist" role as she spends her days traveling through her dreams. There are many theories that surround her, such as she suffers from bipolar or other personality disorders. Different portrayals of her in the game show that it is likely she changes personalities quickly towards other beings depending on how they act towards her or dependent of her opinion of them. But since she has been keeping herself secluded, she is not very open with others and likely chooses to avoid the company of others whenever possible. Based on the nature of her dreams, such as the library world or the glasses effect she can obtain, it can be inferred that Urotsuki appears to be of the quiet, intellectual type, or perhaps artistic based on the bright colors or of the drawings and paintings deep in her dreams-either way, it's easy to see that she has a creative imagination. Since there are games in her room and one of her dreams appears to be a shout-out to Pokemon, it seems she likes games as well. Due to how cosmetic her effects are, as well as the fact that one of the areas of her dream world is a "Dressing Room" filled with lots of outfits and clothes to try on, it's also possible that she secretly likes to dress up sometimes. However, because of her chainsaw, she likely comes off as rather hostile, however, she is not one to attack unless they come at her first or just happen to be in her way and refuse to move.

There aren't many hints of her past life or any relatives in her dreams, except for two: a little boy(?) that sits in the park on a bench, who doesn't do anything other than shake its head when interacted with-however, it is possible that this person is actually herself at a younger age. There is also a male who sits and holds a cup between his legs and has a similar hairstyle and color to her own, but it is unknown if he is her father, brother, or other relative. The only hints given to her past life have been sparse; for example, one area takes you to a place blocked off by fences and cones, where a little Urotsuki can be seen all alone in a crowd as shadows of children with their mothers or fathers walk around her, or a house that can be seen in the distance whose shadow shows what looks like a little Urotsuki sitting in a house with two other people--using the Stretch effect causes the two people sitting with Urotsuki to disappear. Also, occasionally interacting with the TV in the dream world will show what looks like a colorful crayon drawing of Urotsuki outside playing with friends...but then it distorts until it looks like Urotsuki had tried scribbling out parts and people of it with a red crayon.

Despite how some of her dream worlds seem lively and bright, such as the "Toy World" full of legos and blocks or the Chocolate World filled with...well, chocolate and bunnies, which would certainly make one think that Urotsuki is not as depressed as she may seem. However, it is quite clear however that her dreams have darker undertones to them, such as the "Teddy Bear Land", which, despite the cheery sounding name, is filled with large teddy bears splattered with blood or missing faces. Or the "Broken Faces" area that's filled with mutilated girl's faces and hands, lots of blood, monsters, and a half-buried girl who's suicide note can be found in a book in the library.

There are also places such as the hospital area of her dreams with the strange crippled boy, or deep into the sewers of her mind where one may find a girl having hung herself, admist the many other residents such as a masked boy that does nothing but paint on the walls or laughing clowns that trap her in deep underground pits. Who these people are and what they mean to her is a mystery, and it's likely she's not telling. For some reason, there's quite a large number of them that implies that she once knew many people before becoming secluded, so whoever they are, or were, as the case may be, must of been of some importance to her...

It should also be noted that Yume 2kki is not a completed game yet at this time, though it is currently at .94 of beta (Last I checked, I might be wrong), which means it should be finished soon enough. Also, Yume 2kki appears to have multiple endings that can be unlocked once the game is finished and likely after certain requirements have been met. So far, there have been two possible endings revealed (through Debug Mode) after one completes the game. One where Urotsuki walks out to find the stairs on her back patio much like in Madotsuki's ending in the first game. However, instead of jumping to her death, she stands for a little while and refuses to jump, before going back down the stairs and tossing them off the side of the railing--it then cuts to her at her door and presumably finally leaving her apartment while awake. The other ending revealed so far shows Urotsuki jumping off the stairs and into the abyss below, and as she falls, back towards the ground, various creatures and monsters from her dreams can be seen around her as she falls past and away from them. There is then a thump noise that implies that she has hit the ground...however, when shown, it shows her as a plush toy that a little girl has won out of a vending machine with her parents, and then later the Urotsuki doll is seen sitting next to the bed of the sleeping girl. It is likely that this ending is a gag ending, or trying to imply that Urotsuki's next life when reincarnated after killing herself...is that of a doll. (I'm more inclined to go with the former)

Animal; What do they turn into when hugged?
Notes; Using effects, Urotsuki can do many things in her dreams. For example, there are effects that help her on her way such as a lantern to light dark passages, a motorbike to help travel around quicker, or her trusty chainsaw that cuts down enemies and obstacles blocking her path. There are also a good number of cosmetic effects such as dressing up like Red Riding Hood, a Maiko, a Penguin, a Bug, a Police Officer, or even simply giving her Wolf ears, glasses, or twintails to wear, some of which also have added benefits. Then there's also effects that fall somewhere in between like one that turns her into a pixie, one that makes her body glow like a rainbow, a trumpet to play, her head turning into a telephone, or even one that appears to change her gender or make her look like a boy. There are 25 different effects in all at this time.

(It should also be noted that Urotsuki, as stated before, is a hikikomori who likely won't be too happy about being thrust out somewhere that isn't her room at first. However, thanks to her RP memories, she is slowly starting to work through her issues on that as explained below...)
RP Memories; Urotsuki will be bringing along her memories from the previous game she was in, brofist_tv

When Urotsuki first arrived at the Brofist League, she was understandably suspicious and paranoid of her surroundings, unsure of whether she was really awake or if everything was still a dream that she just couldn't wake up from. However, while she was there, she soon met a girl that was very similar to herself, a girl that would soon become her closest friend.

That girl was Madotsuki, the original dreamer.

With some time and through various events and the occasional people she would dare interact with and as time went on, Urotsuki overcame many difficult tasks and hardships that the League would thrust at her, whether it was something from fighting zombies (or rather hiding in a lolibox after escaping from said zombies) or attempting to control her innermost demons in the Shadowrun event. Out of all the people there, Madotsuki became someone that Urotsuki felt that she could trust and rely on if needed, due to their similar circumstances, both at the League and at home in their separate worlds--her friendship was the one thing that actually felt real in this strange world.

When it came time to be sent back home, rather than say goodbye and go back to their separate, lonely worlds, they decided they would stay together no matter what. And thus, with the portal set for Urotsuki's room (It was decided to go there considering Urotsuki had a computer AND game system and not just NASU ^^;;) and with Urotsuki sitting in the basket of Madotsuki's bike, they rode off together into the portal, leaving the (possibly imaginary) world of Brofist League behind them.
