I had noted the lack of arrivals; but I have not been here long and had assumed it was normal for people to not appear so regularly. Is this the first time such a thing has happened?

And what does this ability mean? Can you read thoughts? [He's just kinda making it up, ignore any stupidity.]

Not quite. We can sense an individual's soul and can identify the type of the individual, how strong they are, as well as other soul signatures unique to that individual. It is also possible to get an idea of the type of person through the soul signature, but it's not exactly mind reading and is vague at best.

You can tell their alliances? If they are ally or foe?

Not always, but if I know the type, then yes.

For instance, in my world witches are considered the enemy. When they are not protecting their soul wavelength, I could be able to detect and even locate that witch's soul. Another type of soul I look out for in particular are corrupted souls, which are different than what you normally find elsewhere. I believe it may only be something in my world as I have yet to detect one here in Somarium.

However, if it's a soul type I'm not familiar with, then I couldn't say for sure if they were an enemy or not. Also, those who have strong, dark souls do not necessarily mean they could be an automatic threat, but it would allow me to better judge how to handle the situation.

Very useful. And similar to an ability I have.

I am able to shift my perception so that I can see the truth of those around me, whether they are a friend, an enemy, or simply an informant. I see them in different colors: Red indicates an enemy, white a person with information or a hiding spot, blue an ally, and yellow a person of interest or a target.

I do not know exactly how I came to have the ability. None in my Brotherhood seem to have the ability. Or, if they do, they do not speak of it.

That is quite a useful ability to have, and I take it your occupation must have required such a skill.

It did make it easier, although it isn't always right. I can be tricked, and if someone's true alliance is buried deep enough it won't show that.

The same is true for me. As I mentioned before, there are those who are capable of masking their soul wavelength, and the human nature is complicated.

But it's better than nothing, I suppose.
