My version of the sacred heart soup recipe

This makes a GINORMOUS pot of soup.

2 peppers- I'm not sure if there's a diff. in the colors, but I used one red and one green. I should check that.
Green onions- these are the long, green skinny things with tiny white bulbs at the end. I used half the bunch my grocer sold... cut them into narrow (1-2cm max) strips unless you want sudden explosions of onion-ness in your mouth.
Carrots- I guestimated the amount by putting in like 1.5 times the amount of peppers that was in there.
Celery- same deal as the carrots.
Green beans- I dumped a few cups of frozen ones in.
2 cans stewed tomatoes- I used Del Monte's Italian flavored cans without draining them, it lent a nice spice & taste to the soup that keeps it from blandness.
1 large can broth- I used a whole box of Swanson's low-sodium chicken broth. It didn't cover the veggies, so I poured extra water in.
1 packet soup mix- I used one packet of Lipton's Chicken Noodle Soup, although I'm not sure why it's in the recipe... next time I'll just skip this and add in more Swanson's broth.
There are other optional ingredients I skipped, like mushrooms (which I hate because they're evil). You can find them in the 0xsacredheartx0 community's info page, along with cooking instructions (how long to boil and simmer) that I don't remember. My batch actually foamed a bit on the top while it was boiling. I'm not sure if that's because the pot wasn't cleansed well or what, but it went away.

I didn't add seasonings in while it cooked. Every time I ladled out a bowl to drink I added in spices. I used Mrs. Dash, garlic powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to change the taste around... my favorites are Mrs. Dash with garlic, and it's also good if you use red & black pepper then put a dab of sour cream on top. Basil and oregano should be good too. I didn't stick to the rest of the SH diet because it's too strict- I started binging the first day. But the soup is definatly a good way to put healthy food into my day.
