Got to wean self off the morphine. Pain lessening. Checked out of hospital. Back at my flat. Have beer. Motor functions better, not perfect. Shall spend day watching recaps of Super Bowl, despite total lack of enthusiasm for American football. Plan to get back into swing of things by this evening. Generally feeling terribly philosophical. Yes, because alcohol and medicine is just the proper combination of foreign substances to cause AN ENTIRE BODY TO DISAPPEAR.
