Things are really gearing up. Institut Polaire will be back in August with a trio of pretty cool gigs. The EP has kinda taken a backseat to really fine tuning the liveset. Last night had it all really. An nearly empty Rosemount (even for the headliner), a mix that was fucked, because according to the sound guy...."this board is brand new and I've never used it so we'll have to work things out as we go" (ie no synth the ENTIRE set) and then last but certainly not least we nearly saw what could have been Perth's ( Read more... )

Ah. Nothing like having a police ute cut you off on the sidewalk on your way to work and then proceed to get out and ask you your name and address. And then try and trip you up by asking you detailed questions about where you work, how you are getting there and where you've come from. All without giving you a reason for said questioning. I have finally gotten a chance to watch this film and I must say it has skyrocketed into my fave 5 at the moment. It's got Bill Murray, Owen Wilson etc. and is about a Jaques Cousteau kinda guy but set in the same kinda fantasy world as Amelie with the low level animations etc. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes quirky films set in surreal ( Read more... )

OK. Enjoying my last couple of weeks of unemployment before I start the new job. Am pretty excited but it will be a lot of work. Should keep me plenty busy.
