when i glanced the direction the skyline, there were five consecutive glowing white fireworks passing in upside-down U shapes before fizzling and drifting into nothing-glow. i zipped up my jacket and watched them until their smokeline trajectories were all gone, then fumbled with my keys and went back inside.

it was pretty good.
