One of the requirements to change your name legally is to indulge in the antiquated quaint practice of announcing yourself in the classified section of a printed on paper news paper. Apparently this is where creditors, ex-es and stalkers check regularly to keep in touch with the latest haps. Perhaps I can count this as "Being Published".

I remember how emotional and yet anti-climatic it was to formally and legally change my name to a name that everyone I loved already used for me. But it was still HUGE in my life. So congratulations! And forgive me if I slip from time to time, but I love your Logan name and I am STOKED that I can now refer to the both you as The Daniels. (With my particular group of friends, this is a spare pleasure and I relish it!)

Thanks so much!
I still love hearing folks call us "The Horgs" or "The HotHousians", but neither felt right for a legal name : )
I forget that you also went through a name change. How funny that it's so common for our community. Belated congrats on your name change!

I went through it when I was 18. What I remember of it was that my Dad cried on the court room steps, that weird sort of I'm-not-really-crying thing that men of a certain age do, and made a joke about how Hallmark didn't make a greeting card for this sort of event.

(LetMeGiveYouAJokeHere)

"Bubilas (Babilos) - household god of bees, husband of Austėja"

please proceed to taunt the tapeworm. the classical description of Bubilas as a happy go lucky partier is not far off the mark ...

congrats! and i want to hear more about your family bee stories.

back in my adolescence i had planned on changing my name one day. but the day where my new name would pop up and speak to me never came. and at some point, i decided i liked having a name no one else had. it'll never feel like the right name for me, but oh well!

however, i'd love to know more about the legal process sometime when we can chat bout it :)

This is wonderful and beautiful. Happy recognition of your true you in language music. When you know the notes to sing, you can sing most anything! I love your song.
