I never thought of you as the dancer type. Maybe not even a piano type. Most musicians have this look of what instrument that they play. Looks can be deceiving, however. Thank you, Erica. This means a lot to me. :)

I think one of the most difficult parts of learning to be a musician is getting past the "learning the notes" stage and allowing yourself to just enjoy the music. That is what Dr. Cherrix always says before I play... "Just enjoy the music." This program has been with me for what feels like forever and I've grown to love it... and hate it... but mostly love it.

The moments when you lose yourself in the sounds... those are the reasons we make music. I played a set of Schumann character pieces on my junior recital and at the end of the first one, I realized I was on stage. I'd forgotten. It was one of my favorite and most serene moments... the same happened in the Scriabin set on my senior recital.

I'm glad you experienced my recital in a different way...

...and for the record, I never mistook you for a singer. ;)
