In a way, he's right. You can see elements of God in every religion and life philosophy. It's because God is pretty obvious, not one of those decoder puzzles. If you realy look hard at life, you can see evidence of a higher power, and most every religion contains elements of an individual's obvious interaction with this higher power.

Also, as he said, Christ is the key to salvation, not Christian dogma. I don't believe that every other religion is the same as Christianity, though, because other religions don't hold Christ up as the only way to Heaven. In this, he seems to be contradicting himself.

I believe he was also disputing that accepting Jesus as savior is the one correct path. So not really a contradiction. Every religion is not the same as Christianity, because, well, they don't see Jesus as a messiah. But I'm not sure whether, when asked, he would say that declaring Jesus a messiah is the only correct path either. I'm thinking he'd say no.

Hurray for ecumenical worship what what

I hope you'll understand when I say that if this man preached from the pulpit in a (even "liberal") Christian church that Christ is not the only way to Heaven, I hope he gets fired and excommunicated.

What he's preaching is perfectly fine for a Unitarian Universalist congregation, but not for any protestant Christian organization. The Bible, a holy and intrinsic document to all branches of Catholic and Protestant Christianity, documents Christ himself as saying that he is the only way to Heaven. To speak against that is heresy to the foundation of Christianity and belief in Christ as a redeeming figure. Of course it's a matter of free will if you choose to believe that or not, but for a church that claims to be Christian it is a heretical claim.

Eh, maybe I was wrong. But who says you have to be Christian to preach at a Christian church? Quit being so closed-minded, maaan. :-p

the Sacraments are the key to salvation

it doesnt matter how much you like Christ, the Unbaptized are unsaved

basically these are the forms of Christianity:

Orthodox Church- wrong, but a good attempt. i would say that although it's hereteical its eucharist is probably legitimiate
Catholic Church- the one unniversal Church.
TV Evangelists- Mega churches that serve unwashed idiots that aren't capable of profaning faith unless it involves an elaborate stage act.
Yeehwaw Evanglists- Hillybilly protestants that can't read
Faggot Hippy Christianity- faggot hippys that pretend they're Christians
