[Compared to how he'd been looking over the past few weeks, the Master looks rather...content. Almost happy, really. Almost.]

There just can't simply be one without the other for too long. Good thing for this city, it didn't try my patience for very long. And now I have a manic, annoying cat as well as an equal manic as annoying Time Lord to share ( Read more... )

I don't mind teaching it to you. It's not difficult.

[He peers up at him.]

Again, when do you actually get the idea to speak cat? What else can you speak? Platypus?

Weeelll, I'm not fluent, if that's what you're asking.

[This is turning into a good weekend. Hawke has returned, and Lord Saxon looks much more happy than he had the last few times she's visited with him.]

I am glad to see you again, Lord Saxon. Things are well with you? Your friend - the other one of him - he has returned to this place?

[Guarded, because she doesn't consider Eleven to truly be a 'friend', not after what he did, and she doesn't quite understand how the Lords of Time can be different people at the same time.]

It is possible to speak the language of cats?

[Confused here, and curious. That would be so useful! Then one could tell them not to eat the birds, and hopefully keep order. And given she'll be raising a demon-cat of her very own soon....]

Is such a skill possible for humans to learn?

Yes, he has. The one who left a few weeks ago. A little younger than the one from before, but that's quite alright.

[He chuckles at the second part.]

It is possible, though I still can't gather why one would. As for humans learning...hm. I'm unsure. I'll have to see how simple the language is.

If you are happy to see him, then it is good he has returned.

[She smiles.]

Then perhaps they would listen when you tell them not to climb the drapery or claw at the furniture. They would at least understand what you asked of them. Should you find it simple enough for humans, I should quite like to learn. I shall have a kitten of my own soon. Although, I know not whether demon-cats speak the same language as normal cats.

It is.

[Another chuckle.] Oh? Demon-cats? Do explain.

[Left on the Master's front steps: one (1) wildflower bouquet, complete with two glorious tiger lilies in the center, stems twined together, and a note simply saying "Congratulations." Nestled into the arrangement with the flowers are two fresh, bloody human hearts.]

It probably depends on the type of cat.

[Smilesmile.]

I can't confess to know much about cat species.

And yes, Time Lord. That is my own race.

There are some big ones. They're a little more interesting. I like lions myself.

It sounds pretentious. So do you lord over time or simply defeat it?

I've always had a certain affection for cheetahs.

Blame Rassilon for the pretentious name, not me. And--"lording over time" would be more accurate.

I have to say that "lusus" isn't a familiar term to me.
