New New Release Date?

Feb 17, 2020 19:03

Just got word that Amazon now shows the RotT release date as October 6....not August 25th anymore. Mac's Backs (MWTs local bookstore) also now says October 6th, though the audiobook version still have the original (2nd original) release date in August.

Can anyone else confirm what the ACTUAL release date is now?

I just checked both Fantastic Fiction and Amazon and both give 10/6/2020 as the release date. I want to whine and cry simultaneously! I know it’ll be worth it in the end but I’m not a happy camper just now.

To mildly misquote Anne of Green Gables, "I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers (with new book releases)!"

I work in publishing, and an industry site lists October 6 as the pub date. The publisher is currently also planning (but might not actually accomplish-the best laid plans and all that) a book trailer and other videos, author tour, and promotion on Epic Reads, among other things.

ninedaysaqueen mentioned end-of-year promotion, and this does indeed mean that the book can be included in holiday round-ups. The audiobook production is likely unrelated, as it doesn't take a huge amount of time; however, it can take some time for the metadata to feed out to all retail sites, which is why you might see conflicting dates. ARCs need sufficient time to reach reviewers/media outlets and spur reviews, and some long-lead media plan many months ahead of time.

I'm really excited, though, and I'm glad I decided to randomly check Sounis today!
