one; i try to take more direct routes
two; i don't let my car idle
three; i only take people home that live near me, unless they pay me for gas

I just got my license, but I'm already trying to save gas. It's great to carpool with my friends, so I don't have to waste gas as often. The high gas prices make it impossible just to drive around for fun.
