For the record, I think you'd be a great mom. You would raise your kids to have respect for others (and for themselves), to be open minded and understanding to different perspectives, to explore the world fearlessly and love tenaciously, to pursue their education even though it's a bullshit bureaucratic system, and most of all, to think critically, ask questions and not accept BS from others. Yet I am conscious of my inability to be fully responsible for another being(s).
I just learned this weekend that my family is freaking out over me saying I'm not having kids. That's just my choice right now for a while.
What I particularly hated about that total stranger's comment about my private personal life was the implication of my purpose in life as some sort of vessel for the babies I'll give my husband under his heteronormative assumptions, or the fact that he directed his statement to my uterus, who the fuck is he to make comments about my uterus?!
