Hmmmm, I think that would be a story about post-FFXIII reconstruction, merrily ignoring the sequel for the present moment. Maybe it'd be the first anniversary of the fall of Cocoon, meeting up and looking at how far everything had come, or maybe it would be Fang and Vanille waking to the world their friends built, and the fic alternates between them running into legends or memorials about the others, and flashbacks to what really happened to cause those stories.

...uh, yeah, that is the John♥Karkat, Rose♥Kanaya, Karkat<>Kanaya confused-babyqueer epic, definitely, years after canon as they're settling into a fucked-up world that lets John ride all his insecurities easily; it's from Karkat's POV, struggling to deal with his own trust issues and self-esteem issues enough to admit what he wants, while trying to interpret John's increasingly denial-ridden and contradictory and wrecked actions and advances and simultaneous insistence that all the things they've done (frantic drunk kisses, desperate lonely sortof-sex against an alley wall one night, things like that) somehow 'don't count.' It's basically a massive-ass deconstruction of the whole 'we're not gay, we just love each other' thing. And meanwhile Karkat's struggling to help out and support Kanaya as she goes through a similar and thoroughly ambiguous process with Rose, trying to interpret third-hand mixed signals and withdrawal and Rose vanishing for ages at a time (as she
