Have an appointment to meet with the new banker tomorrow afternoon.  We came up today, and will head back Wednesday.  May have another appointment at the builder's when we get home.  At least it isn't supposed to freeze tonight, so we should have water in the morning!

The results of the meeting yesterday looks promising.  We're to get a 'cleaned up' version of the quote plus the specs sheet the bank wants next week.  Then we'll go see the new banker - and get an appraisal.  Then we'll know for sure, but we feel better than we did after the last meeting.  Thanks for all the good wishes and finger crossing - it ( Read more... )

We have an appointment tomorrow afternoon at the builder's office.  Keep your fingers crossed that their numbers come in low enough that we can continue with this project.  After that, to meet the new banker and get an appraisal.

We got the final drawings from the architect, at long last.  The builder's office has sent off bid requests.  There is actual forward movement!  Then, of course, we get to see how the appraisal works out and what the 'current events' do to the bank's willingness to loan us money.

We did, indeed, get the ice they promised.  They said it was the worst in five years.  The joy of being retired is I didn't have to go out - and we didn't.  The cars were coated, but no trees nor wires were down in our neighborhood.  I did have icicles hanging from the patio cover - don't get that very often!

More weather swings.  This morning we had a low of 32 - and this afternoon we had a high of 80 - a 48 degree swing.  Tonight is to be mid 50s and tomorrow mid 70s, then back to the 30s and 40s for a bit.  Seem to have gotten over the crud I had earlier, but with this kind of weather, I'm likely to be back with it again.  Hoping not.

Well, we got another update on the drawings from the architect.  They're better than the last set, but still don't seem to show what was asked for when the builder responded to the last set.  T'B wrote to the builder and asked them to do a 'sanity check' - and they think they'll get back to us in the morning.  If something comes up and they can't, ( Read more... )
