a day in the life

Literally I was busy from 9am until almost 10pm. I rather unsuccessfully worked on a midterm until noon in the library. Unsuccessful because of discussions of Solitaire with Alison and also playing phone tag with cast members and my director for my friend's senior project I'm in reschedualing our rehersal from 1-4 to 5-7 because from 1-3 there was ( Read more... )

Sounds interesting. Today, when we were at walmart we were in the hair product section and there was one subcatagory called "ethnic hair care" which was directed towards black people. They had some soap, called black soap. And then they had some product that was skin whitner.I found it interesting, but then i was informed that it was made by the ethnic group that section was directed towards. Mew.

that is interesting. The first interesting thing is how grocery stores use such polite terms so that they think people won't be offended 'ethnic hair care' 'feminine hygiene', etc. I don't know what it is called, but I know there is a skin condition where people's skin gets whiter in blotches and so that product may be what that addresses. But I don't know if that is a common enough condition for it to be sold in grocery stores. I do know that this society has created a lot of issues and people now have needs to do a lot of stuff that maybe they wouldn't have to if we didn't have the hundreds of years of history of oppression that we do, and my gut instinct is that skin whitener is a product that helps people get along in this society the only way they feel they can. But I truly have no idea.

I'm totally completely behind you and I bet there's lots of other people who would be too. Maybe if we ask nicely and cause they'd only have to go downstairs the first years would show up.
And by "the first years" we of course mostly mean those five people who need it the most.
But lots of upperclassmen would support/help out/show up too, I'm positive.
