There are many reasons I want to be an Resident Advisor. First, its a great learning experience.  I will practice leadership skills by working with other RAs and be responsible for the residences.  Second, it is a great way to meet different people, and hopefully make new friends.  And thirdly I hope to use the money I would earn to participate in a study abroad program.

Education
I went to Catholic school from kindergarten to eight grade, after that it was Nazareth Area High School.  I was able to experience both public and private school.  Now I am a current Freshman.  Although I am undecided now, I am looking towards political science as a major.

High School Activities
Band - I was involved in the band for four years.  I played in the percussion section.  Being part of this organization help me in many ways.  I learned how to interact with lots of people even if we did not get along.  My senior year I was looked up to by the other members and had to be an example to them.  Also I worked as a team to achieve our final goal.
Soccer - I played on the girls soccer team for three years.  I really learned how important team work is.  Also the I understand the value of athletics physically and mentally on people.  Also the work ethic involved in sports and be applied to academics as well.

Work Experience
-Hostess at Perkins Restaurant
- Register/Ice cream sever at Emily’s Ice cream
- Factory Worker at Computer Designs
All of these jobs were very different but I learned the different sides to the working world.  Being an RA will show me another aspect.  As a hostess I learned about the restaurant business and how to deal with rude and unpleasant people.  Working at an ice cream shop, I usually only encountered friendly people although some were rude.  I also leaned how to make some things like ice cream cakes.  Doing factory work was very interesting.  The work was tiring and tedious.  It did not require a lot of though, but it did require patience.  I learned a lot about all different types of people at each of these jobs.

College Experiences
- Photographer for the Voice - I helped take pictures for the school paper during the fall semester.  I hope to continue this and even help with photo shop, which involved putting the photographs into the actual paper.
- Intramural Soccer - Soccer is my favorite sport and I kept some of my skills by playing intramural soccer at the Student Recreational Center.  I want to also participate in the outdoor intramural soccer in the spring.
- Community Service - As part of a scholarship I receive I did community service at PA Pets.  This shop helped raise money for people to have their pets sprayed and neutered.
