A random thought

Here's an odd thought. The only two cool things ever written for the harpsichord are:

  • Golden Brown: The Stranglers
  • High Wire (The Danger Man theme): Edwin Astley

Discuss. (Or don't!)

I haven't been listening to her much, but some of the album 'Boys For Pele' was harpsichord-based. I don't remember which track used it best, though.

Oh, good call, Steve. Most of the album is piano-based, but she used harpsichord extremely well in Blood Roses, Professional Widow, Talula. Thanks for reminding me of that album - time I listened to it again.

There was a whole wave of really good rock/pop songs written in the mid sixties which feature the harpsichord such as Dear Stephanie by (the band)Love; Too Much on My Mind by the Kinks; A Very Cellular Song by the Incredible String Band, the list goes on.
