How to make brushes in Photoshop

For many beginners ho have different version of photoshop, they can't use alot of the brushes out there. I had no idea how to make brushes until recently.

Here is the simplest way to transform an image pack into usable brushes!

transforming image packs into brushes

step ONE

Open you image to be transformed. Most user include an image pack with their .zip file of brushes. Sometimes seperately. [An image pack is just seperate, sometimes a large picture you crop, of the images the creator used for their brushes.]

step TWO

Go to File >Edit>Define brush.

A screen will pop up like this:

Name the brush what you want, it really doesn't matter to me, but it may to you.
Hit 'OK'

step THREE

Go to your brush tool

Now go to your brush palette (circled in pink) and to your other options, the small circle arrow (circled in yellow).
Go to 'save brushes...' and save them.

Tips on saving:
.put the creator's name/username in it so given credit is easy
.give yourself a clue as to what is in the saved brush pack
.make folders to organize, if you like.

I have small OCD tendencies that make me over organize alot. :3

I hope this tutorial, even as simple as it seems, helps many beginners on their way.

You can take any image and make your own brushes, but maybe I'll leave that for another day. Who knows what I'll be doing.

I do hope to make my own brushes for other to use, so keep watching and thank you to all the new watchers!
