Does Veronica Mars know the way to San Jose?

Nov 02, 2007 18:31

Well, I've been mostly idle here for a while.  On the odd chance that someone missed me (and my passive-aggressive self pity) I apologize.  To make up for it, at least to the core of my flist who are Veronica Mars fans, I present this poll.  Forget about where are they now.  What I want to know is where will they be.

Poll And all the stars that never were are parking cars and pumping gas...

And, of course, please let me ( Read more... )

I think at least a few of them will have moved on to other careers. Not that they failed, but just moved on.

I'm guessing Percy, Teddy, Francis.

Yes.

(Meaning, both? I guess. I dunno. I'm just guessing anyway.)

Let's say outside of any employment that could get them a guest spot on a talk show besides the inevitable "Where are they now?" or "Celebrities gone bad." episodes.

I can also see JD directing. And definitely Rico in a dog movie. KB will remain the biggest name, even if I hate to admit it.

KB is too short to be a leading lady. If she can latch onto the coattails of something already established like Heroes then who knows. If she can't make it before 30, she'll be a B level star at the most the rest of her career.

PD3 can be an excellent comedy relief if the right opportunity comes along like the HP commercial.

JD has the potential and the personality to pull it off if the right vehicle comes along. Vampire series can only go on so long.

FC sounds like a decent guy but I just see stereotypical roles for him.

EC was fantastic in JSM. I think that might have been his pinnacle.

MM needs to find his niche to get more publicity.

KG is finding steady work right now. If he keeps it up, I could see him advancing into feature films and possibly become the next Michael Caine or at the very least, a white Samuel L. Jackson.

RH, TD, TM, mmmm no.

I agree that Ms Bell's height is a problem. She may have to settle for one of those Wilma Flintstone roles, you know, smart beautiful wife of a loud, fat jerk in a sitcom. Or she could get lucky and be cast in the feature film role she was born to play, anything that makes Tom Cruise look tall.

I don't think Mr. Colantoni will ever be a household name but I can see him becoming Hollywood's go-to actor for cranky/goofy/endearing old man roles. He could be the next Ruth Gordon. Actually, back to that height thing, if Ms Bell can stick it out long enough, she could be the next, next Ruth Gordon.

That's what I was thinking, and then I thought maybe that was mean to say that, but I really do think it can be a problem for her career.

I think that KB is the only one with a shot at becoming a household name. A lot will depend on how her stint on Heroes goes and what the reception for Forgetting Sarah Marshall is like.

Tina, Jason, and Kyle (judging by the fact that they all have roles on other current TV shows) will probably be alright. Enrico is about as established as he's ever going to be. I doubt that he'll land a role with as much meat as VM again, but he'll probably always get something.

Ryan, Percy, and Michael will probably hang on in the business, but have difficulty getting work. I can't see any of them as leading men, but they may be able to have a career similar to that of Enrico's with a few breaks.

Francis, I expect to be out of the business unless he turns his personal life around (sadly), and Teddy will be out just because of lack of talent (sadly). Nothing against Teddy, I just don't think that he's a good enough actor to last beyond his pretty boy days.

I didn't know that young Mr. Capra had a personal life headed in a bad direction. I'm sorry to hear that.

As far as Daggs, Hansen, and Muhney (damn I'm tired of typing Mr., Ms et al) I can't see them having a career like Mr. Colantoni. None of them have shown me that they have any sense of comic timing. Daggs might hang on in future best friend supporting roles but for Muhney and Hansen I fear it's leading man or bust. Success is not impossible for either of them. Remember two things: Ecclesiastes 9:11 (I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.) and David Boreanaz.

I missed you. Whenever you post about food or artists or bands or old movie stars I've never heard of it makes me feel more cultured and enlightened. Plus, you're funny.

If Kristen Bell is well-received on Heroes, I can see her becoming a household name, but I fear that her career will always border at the solid B actress range. I believe all of the VM alum will be able to find some form of work in the entertainment industry in the next ten years, except for maybe Teddy Dunn. I don't really see acting as a passion that he seriously wants to pursue, maybe a couple of side projects here and there but I think he'll find more success in some other career.
