I know some members of our team are not even acknowledging the fact that we have another team to face before Seigaku. I strongly discourage this attitude. Having a positive outlook is one thing, but being careless is another. Seigaku is definitely a whole lot stronger than Ooguchi Minami, but I will not allow a mere oversight to ruin our chances to win Kantou and proceed to Nationals.
We are prepared for Seigaku. The training results proved that. But it's not Seigaku we're facing in Round 1. Focus your attention first on the opponent in front of us, and that is Ooguchi Minami.
Now that team, according to Dan-kun's data, has the same weakness as Seigaku. And that is an uncompatible D2 players. While we ourselves don't have the luxury of a second seasoned Doubles pairing, Kai-kun and Tetsu-kun proved to have a very good combination in Doubles. Therefore, we are going to use the classic Yamabuki strategy of collecting the first three wins against Ooguchi. The presence of highly skilled Singles players in our rank greatly eliminates the previous weakness of that strategy.
The regulars and the tentative line up for Round 1 of the Kantou Tournament are as follows:
D2 - Kai Yuujirou & Ishida Tetsu
D1 - Minami Kentarou & Higashikata Masami
S3 - Tanishi Kei
S2 - Hirakoba Rin
S1 - Dan Taichi
Reserve:
Shiraishi Kuranosuke
The regulars will have a specialized training starting later in the afternoon practice, until tomorrow. Friday will be the rest day.
Three more days, guys. Work hard.
