I was watching that same PBS show. Too bad they had to break in so frequently for the fund drive.
I remember those songs from my childhood as well. My Dad would often sing those songs to me and in some cases, pick me up to dance with me. Fond memories, indeed!
FYI -- just so everyone knows, my mom hasn't disappeared. A lightning storm on Wednesday night knocked out her computer. My SO and I are going over there on Sunday to see if it's salvagable or see if we can get her wireless router to work; if not, then we'll probably go somewhere with her to get a new one.
If she had her way, she would've bought a new one already (like, five minutes after the tornado sirens stopped). But I talked her into waiting until we could look at some and do research. So... technically it's my fault.
Anyway. Thought I'd say something, because when I was troubleshooting with her over the phone, she said something to the effect of, "And my livejournal friends are gonna worry bout meee :( :( :(" It was actually quite cute, but I can understand her frustration over not having a computer.

My older sister had a lot of those 45s...to me, they were a taste of the "grown up" world.
