CHALICE is here!

I'm a HUGE Robin McKinley fan. My only complaint is that she has sometimes had a few years gap between new novels, but not at the moment; we're on a roll. DRAGONHAVEN came out last year, CHALICE is released this year, and an ELEMENTALS volume and PEGASUS are both in the wings, with mention of ALBION possibly following that. Exciting!

Waitaminute, it was only supposed to be released today? I bought it in a Borders last Sunday...

I think today is the official release date, but I know other people have got it earlier, while some are still waiting. Glad you got yours early :)

I found Chalice very densely textured with beautiful descriptive passages and characterisation that brought the people, creatures and land to life. I was so caught up with it towards the end that I found myself talking out loud while reading :)
I'm rereading it at the moment, which I can't do straightaway with many books. It feels to me as if I'll find it becomes one of my favourite McKinley books.

I spent ages arm-wrestling amazon.uk before giving up and ordering from amazon.us who told me they were shipped out on Tuesday, but I didn't expect to be holding it in my sticky paws until Friday at the earliest. Let me know when yours comes - hoping it's soon :)
