Capercaille is the band, look for albums Beautiful Wasteland, Secret People and Crosswinds (I have and love all three). Gaelic Storm's early stuff is very traditional, their later stuff branches out into traditional feel modern music. The Chieftains are the ultimate of traditional Irish bands. For pub songs, look for anything by Tommy Makheem and any of the Clancy Brothers (or the collaboration for extra credit). Brother (out of Australia) has new, lush music using fiddle, bagpipes and electronica. Urban Cave is my favorite of theirs.
her current album is a bit more modern popish style but her first album has very strong celtic overtones. she's got a very good voice and incredible range for a kid.
