The garden was small, but healthy. Dozens of different kinds of flowers were in bloom, and the tiny herb garden beside it was doing very well

He was bored. Amazingly, wickedly, wildly bored. And Em was being a bloody damn pain. He loved the girl, he did, but feeling all that fear for a day was nearly enough to kill him. It was breaking his heart and he knew it was up to Jase to handle this.

All he could do was lend support. Which meant he needed his own. And so he went down to find Sin.

Not even slowing as he curled down into the dirt and rested his head in her lap.

It was amazingly hard to work in the garden when you had a big kitty's head in your lap.

It doesn't stop her from petting him though, running her fingers over his short hair. "Hey, what's up?"

Turning his head, he kissed her fingers, not caring when he tasted dirt.

"Do you stay here because you fear the outside world?"

She frowns at that question, then shakes her head. "I stay because you, Em and Jase are here. Because I have Tam and Sev here to teach me about my magic. Because this is the first real home I've had."
