college preparation is for the weak-minded and feeble of spirit. don't be sucked in. :P

Carleton is a very good school, and it's a good sign that you're making it one of your safeties...it means you're smart, and you could make a run for the big leagues. don't ever let anyone tell you you can't make it.

I actually meant to put Carleton in my "possible if I continue to work at it" category, but then University of Colorado, Denver would have been all alone. Not that DU isn't a good school, I was just mildly shocked when I realized it wasn't that unattainable. That and they keep sending my flyers. Oh well, I suppose it's the price one pays for giving one's address out to colleges early. XD That and I've wanted to go to Carleton since I was in seventh grade because my "hero" the late Senator Paul Wellstone was actually a professor there for some time, and I actually structured my high school "four year plan" around attending it (the one my step-dad forced me to draft, thank goodness I didn't take CECA). It's set in rural Minnesota, in a small town, and far away from California - the only thing that really gets me is the price. Ouch.

As for college preparation, my step-dad's been making me do stuff like read up about schools and request information for three or four years. D'oh!

Did you say alliteration???? iwhinealot March 29 2006, 04:57:08 UTC
This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

The fact that I understood 95% of this WHILE WATCHING THE MOVIE made me realize that ive been bombarded with far too much vocabulary in the past two years.... stupid SAT/advanced placement standards ><

and if you dont know what movie I speak of, especially given the end portion, you need help.....

P.S. IM BORED

I know, I need to see "V for Vendetta".

And yes, the public school system has suceeded in molding you into a liberal elitist with a useless, but ridiculously large vocabulary and pedantic demeanor. Congratulations!

By the way, you need an icon. Look at one of the comments I left you and you'll find a Johnny the Homicidal Maniac one and a Happy Noodle Boy one. :D

I WAS LIKE YOU ARE SUCH A MANIPULATING DEUCE OF A PIECE OF SHIT PAPER!!! i cursed at it for a long time. ben was like jesus and /hid upstairs. the propaganda and deceit scared me. it really had nothing about the coast guard on it at all. just praise for my excellence and if i have these characteristics then i should join the coast guard, because its the only way ill learn excellent leadership and be employed afterward. ...piss off.

How in God's name did the Coast Guard get your address? I'd be scared if I were you.

Oh yeah, unless you checked something in your high school registration packets, the school has the right to give out your personal information to the military. I personally made sure they couldn't get that information, yet I'm sure they have their ways...

As for myself, I am yet to give my personal information to any military institution. However, I fear the Air Force Academy in Colorado and the Citadel in South Carolina might already have my information on account of my visiting both within the past five years. 0_0

I'm not anti-military by any means. I could deal with the drills, physical and mental rigor, and even the violence. My number one reason for not going to a military academy? I hate waking up early.
