Doctor Who night
This one was actually rather good. This time they've managed to balance new ideas with stock ideas ('base-under-siege' being a favourite way for the show to tell a good story without spending too much money on expensive sets), tell a good story, and build a bit more into the regulars at the same time.
So, why is the BBC's stock photo of the Moon still in black and white? Anyone would think they'd have invented colour photography by 2049...
"How would you like to be First Woman on the Moon? That's 'special' enough."
"We're going to crash." "Why didn't you just tell her you didn't mean it?"
"Is that the best you could get?" "Second hand space shuttle, third hand astronauts."
"There was no shuttle." "You've got one." "It was in a museum!"
... And now I'm thinking back to the 1964 Dalek Invasion of Earth story, where the in-story explanation of why they're running around 22nd century Earth in a 1950s commercial van is that they found it in a museum...
I see they still have those silly little LED torch things in the year 2049... which, all right, isn't really THAT far in the future any more. It's in about 35 years time... 35 years ago, I was still watching THE SAME TV SHOW. Of course, back in those days it had a tin dog in it...
(And they break the show for an advertisement for the Latest Greatest Thing. A small barbecue that can be folded up and taken places. Just like... the 1970s barbecue that's probably still sitting in my garden shed. Or my father's garden shed. Or possibly my brother's garden shed. It probably hasn't been used since about 1985...)

There seems to be a lot of avoiding of the word 'spider' for things that look a bit like spiders, move a lot like spiders and leave cobwebs behind them...

"The Moon isn't breaking apart... the Moon is hatching!"
