Character Name: Rogue, technically its Anna Marie, but she isn't going to admit to that
Canon source: Marvel 616/end of Dazzler 22
Personality: Rogue is a stubborn, headstrong idiot. She is extremely loyal to Mystique and Destiny, who she considers to not only be her leaders but also her family. While she loves and cares for the two women she is also trying hard to find her own voice, and like many teenagers sometimes goes against their wishes. She makes rash decisions based on her heart instead of her head, and that gets her into trouble a lot of the time. She has a horrible temper, and once she has a grudge against someone it takes awhile to go away, if it ever does. This is why she repeatedly goes after members of the X-Men because they made a fool of her or because she wants a chance to show off her skills again.
She is extremely jealous of people who are able to have any kind of physical relationship, from romance to just simple hugs. Sometimes it makes her fly into her bouts of rage, but other times it can make her mopey and sad. Usually that only lasts for a little while until she becomes angry again.
She also has Carol Danvers running around in her head and that is causing her a lot of pain and confusion. While she loves all the powers she got from the older woman, having her presence in her mind causes memories to mix and leaves Rogue unsure what happened in her life and what was Carol's. She gets headaches and will experience weird cases of almost deja vu when confronted with items or people that Carol knew/liked. She also has Cody in her head, but he's usually fairly quiet and while his memories make her sad, he never tries to gain control of her.
History:
Up to the end of her time in the Brotherhood Strengths:
--Rogue can absorb others memories, powers, and personality traits by skin to skin contact. This is a strength as well as one of her greatest weaknesses.
--She has from Carol: flight, superhuman strength, endurance, reflexes, and durability, and a seventh sense that allows her to react instinctively to danger
--She has experience with a number of different weapons.
--Some experience in hand-to-hand combat
Weaknesses:
--Having Carol in her head is a big stressor and can make her confused/disoriented.
--She cannot control her powers and sports the lovely gloved look; also depending on how strong the personality is that she absorbs they can sometimes take control over her body until they fade
--Jealousy and temper get her into a lot of trouble. A lot.
--When she's upset she makes rash decisions that are usually the opposite of what she should do.
Preferred drop-in point: Truth or Consequences, New Mexico
What are some of your plans for this character in their new environment? I want to see what I can do with Rogue from this point in her life without the guidance of Mystique and Destiny, and with little chance of being redeemed by joining the X-Men. I want to play and see if she'll still remain a villain and make other people's lives miserable, or if she can somehow pull herself out of the gutter again and redeem herself.
First Person Journal Sample:
Ah don't know who's fault this is, but if y'all don't put me back where I'm supposed to be there'll be hell to pay. Ah ain't no wiltin' flower and if I have to fight my way outta this place then I certainly will. And don't think just because I'm young that I ain't been in my fair share of scrapes already.
If you've got some idea of how I can get back to where I'm supposed to be, I'm all for hearin' it. If you're just gonna bitch and moan take it somewhere else 'cause I've got bigger things to worry about.
[long sigh; someone sounds annoyed.]
An' no I ain't about to go spoutin' off my name or anythin' on this thing. Momma didn't raise no fool.
Third Person Sample:
Maybe this was all a test.
It wouldn't surprise Rogue; her mother had put her through some rather ridiculous training exercises through the years, wanting to make sure she was ready to be an actual member of the Sisterhood. If that was the case she couldn't afford to fail the test; failure was never an option, not if she wanted to make Mystique proud. She would be strong, and watch and wait, gathering the information Mystique and Destiny would need when they came and found her. And if this wasn't a test, if they weren't going to eventually show up, then she would need to use all of the skills she'd learned from them in order to survive. So no matter what the outcome was, her options were the same.
She would blend in, and be their eyes and ears. Except couldn't she have been dropped into a cooler environment? The desert heat was going to get worse the longer she was here, and it would be hard to remain in the shadows if people were curious about why she was clothed head to toe. But she knew she couldn't risk accidentally absorbing another person. The headaches were already torturous, and she didn't want to be thrown off her game by having blackouts here. She would just have to work harder to keep Carol's presence in the back of her mind.
Whatever this was, training exercise or something sinister, she would survive. After all, that's what she had always been, a survivor.
