As I see it, Leftist isolationism boils down to "America is so bad that we shouldn't pollute the world by getting involved with it".
But if Iraq keeps going badly, and we pull out, I think it'll be because of '30s-style isolationism: "The world is so fucked up, why should we try to help them?" I certainly feel that way pretty often. When I see Iraqis killing us when we're trying to help them build a nation, when I see Europeans smugly denouncing us while cowering behind our bases, I want to say "fuck 'em all" and bring the troops home.
The thing is, if we do that, we'll get hit again. And when that happens--when we pull the troops home from the mideast, and the terrorists thank us by releasing smallpox or crashing a plane into Independence Hall--well, then they'll see just what they stirred up. If we back out of Iraq, then get hit again, I expect we'll flatten everything from Tripoli to Islamabad. I don't want to see that happen. But they may just push us into it.

I understand where you are coming from. I think there must be something we could do to destroy these Islamic radicals. What was worse was that Mr. Berg was JEWISH..JEWISH..which means the Mossad is going to get involved.
I think we need to destroy them all pretty quickly because if the Mossad gets ahold of them..There won't be anything left.
I totally agree with you! The US really needs to sort everything out! If I was president, I would destroy the who Middle East, because they are just devasting our troops and ruining our moral. They ARE too radical for us.

2000 years ago, a Roman Citizen could walk around the known world unharmed, cloaked only in the protection of the words 'civus romanus': I am a Roman citizen. Why? Because the strong retribution of Rome should any harm befell even ONE of it's citizens was universally understood.
While I don't think going nuclear is the solution - a swift and powerful retaliation certainly IS. It's time for the gloves to come off for good.
